I/V ICD update on query 15 days ago
I posted a query on experience of having a Boston Instruments I/V cardioverter defibrillator fitted as I was getting bumps and beats since the implant three weeks ago. I gave feedback following contact with the hospital who advised me no issues and I needed to let it settle down.Today I took a call

Back to work after icd fitted
Hi. My husband suffers from AF and 7 years ago, was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. Has an ef of 25%. He is a groundworker/machine driver by trade. His Dr has said he will be unable to return to his work as he would need a fit to work medical, which he would fail. It seems most driving jobs, plant machinery

ICD/Pacemaker Job Done
Hi all. Got the implant op on Wednesday and home yesterday. Everything went like clockwork (excuse the pun). I cant praise the staff at Edingurgh Royal Infirmary enough. They were wonderful. It was a very strange experience being awake while this was going on. I could feel all the pulling pushing happening

ICD beeping at 5am
My husband had his
ICD
fitted 2 weeks ago, I heard it beeping yesterday morning at roughly 5am, it only beeped for a short while, does anyone know what this means? I know my husbands arrhythmia is worse when he's sleeping, it hasn't beeped since x

ICD and Driving
- I'm unsure if I really need the
ICD
and having one does mean some restrictions in the future.

Ablation/S-ICD Recovery Time - why is it taking so long?
Eventually, I was discharged after an ablation and having a subcutaneous
ICD
fitted. They switched me to nebivolol and kept the Ramipril. There was very little improvement over the next four weeks, so they added some dapagliflozin to help the heart muscle and try to reduce symptoms.

ICD fitting tomorrow!
I know the choice of pacemaker or
ICD
is very much my choice, but I also know it has implications on my HGV. Advice much appreciated about going forwards.

At the 6 week
ICD
checkup, they turned on Rate Response. Could this be causing the issue or could it be that the setting of 55bpm is too low? Many thanks.

More recently my
ICD
has delivered a couple of life saving shocks due to VT events. Weight and mental health issues are compounding challenges for my recovery but I’m trying whatever I can.
