Advisory letter Re Medtronic ICD.

I had an ICD fitted in 2018 and life has been great since then.

However, a recent letter from Harefield Hospital informs me that the Medtronic device which I have has potential problems, in that there is a small possibility that the ICD may not deliver the full amount of energy if/when a shock is delivered.

Subsequently I have to return to Harefield to have the ICD reprogrammed this September.

I wonder if any other patient who uses this website has had a similar letter? It is a little worrying.

Hello Malcky. I have Boston Scientific and never received such a letter. I suggest you go on facebook to the "Living with an ICD (support group)", it a very active group with more than 20000 members, based in the US but with worldwide members. Thierry
