In my recovery journey following a number of events over the last couple of years including two major cancer surgeries, a heart attack and a couple of cardiac arrests. More recently my ICD has delivered a couple of life saving shocks due to VT events. Weight and mental health issues are compounding challenges for my recovery but I’m trying whatever I can.

You have had a lot to deal with in a short time. I hope you have the support from family and friends.

Is your weight to high or low. If high then remember it's not at sprint to lose it but a marathon. So try and cut out high fat content food out or down from your diet and increase your veg intact. If it's to low a friend of mine has Ensure each bottle contains 300 cals come in various flavours and can be prescribed by your GP via a dietitian. They are not to replace food but to supplement it if you have a low appetite.

For mental health can you talk to o someone how you feel honestly. BHF nurses are very good and will listen if you haven't got anyone. Plus have you are hobby that takes concentration and calms you down. Mine is cross stitch and yes men do it. If that's to slow we have a male member of our mixed media craft group who crochets.

Exercise can help with physical and mental health. I don't mean you have to go to a gym but do you like swimming. I got to a sit fit class it's not a soft option but it's fun. My local council did an active ageing class GP referral it was 12 weeks free including the hot drink and biscuits afterwards . So we got fit but it was social as well. Also they do healthy eating class. May be something in your area. I go to a paid class at nearly 66 youngest in the class oldest member 91. I hope I am like her if I reach 91.

I know there are healthy heart exercise classes but not for me as I also have a rare hereditary neurological condition plus my PAF and hole in the side of my heart. And exercise equipment they use not able to use because of my mobility. Plus the noise would trigger my startle reflex that's when my whole body stiffens and I fall like a tree.

Sorry can't think anything else that may help..
