Positive moments despite CLL
As of 2015/11 I am on
Ibrutinib
. Some tireying, but bearable sideeffects, however excellent results of my monthly bloodtests and no lymphknodes. Even though this side looks encouraging, there are periods of depressive mood, because of lack of assurance, about how it will go on.

OSU says that as soon as they see the relapse, they will but me on
Ibrutinib
first but would also look at CAR T and the possibly a stem cell transplant. Im only 46 and OSU says that because other than the fact that I have CLL, Im healthy (that sounds so weird when they say that).

First Day of Obin, Ibrutinib, Venetoclax Trial at OSU
Anyhow, I started at a regional hospital, went to Penn for a second opinion and they were going to start my on
ibrutinib
in March. Though the doc at Penn was really well regarded, my friends weren't satisfied and pushed me to try to get to MD Anderson or Dana Farber.

What to do?
Triple clinical trial at OSU (Byrd) for obinutuzimab,
Ibrutinib
and Venetoclax for 14 months. We pay copays on
Ibrutinib
and whatever medicare and supplement doesn't pay for treatment/tests/lodging/transportation/etc.

Dr. Furman on Genomic testing and MRD Negativity- And I am off to Africa
I am staying away from salads and fruit drinks- that will be hard, and bringing a ton of emergency meds (cipro, immodium, Z-Pak, prednisone, pain meds, anti-histamines, suture kit, disinfectants, and an extra week of all my daily meds including my
ibrutinib
.)

Severe pain so may have to stop Ibrutinib
Many thanks to all who responded to my query re
Ibrutinib
and Ibuprofen. In the end consultant said not a good idea. Im any case I am still suffering severe muscle pains and have dropped down to only 1/3 dose. If pains continue will have to stop
Ibrutinib
. Very disappointing.

Cancer Lottery - campaign asking for fair consideration of new drugs required to treat rarer cancer patients in the UK
Many will have been following the unsatisfactory way in which new drugs for CLL are being assessed and
Ibrutinib
not gaining a favourable preliminary recommendation at this stage of the assessment process by NICE is of real concern.

Dr. Mato on what really happens when we must stop our ibrutinib or idelalisib
He, along with 9 other institutions gathered data about their patients who discontinued either
ibrutinib
or idelalisib. You can read about the study and watch my interview with Dr.

Ibrutinib

Very low platelets.
My son stopped
Ibrutinib
and started Steroids two days ago because his platelets went down to 20 and the doctor has to figure out if it's from
Ibrutinib
or the CLL. Now he has bruises everywhere. Big ones like crazy.

Complex Karyotype
My reason for caring is that I have read that a complex karyotype increases the likelihood of
ibrutinib
resistance. I'm currently in remission, but am always interested in what future treatments my be effective for me Help from the experts on this is appreciated.

Medical science stumbles on --- slowly.
Wierda (MD Anderson) and was informed that he he had discovered, as well as can be determined, that I am the last person in America and perhaps the world taking the 840mg/day dosage of
ibrutinib
.

While much of the recent excitement, for very good reasons, has been about the new class of drugs that block the B-cell receptor such as
ibrutinib
and idelalisib, or the fresh approval of venetoclax that inhibits BCL-2 leading to programmed cell death, there is still a need for more and Celgene has led

Clinic Trail Decision: FCR vs. Ibrutinib/Rituximab
Ibrutinib
/Rituximab for treatment naive; < 65 years old subjects. The only health issue I have is CLL, (no blood pressure problem, Cholesterol, etc.) so I'm not on any prescription drugs.

Are there possibilities other than stem cell transplant in Canada for CLL with 11Q deletion?
He was taken off
Ibrutinib
because his Neutrophils were getting low. Then he had a cold and swollen lymph nodes on his neck, and an enlarged spleen. He is now back on
Ibrutinib
on a reduced dosage of 2 pills/day.

Not sure if CJ has actually identified his lifesaver as
Ibrutinib
as yet, but he did so in article in The New Yorker last week. Long may he rabbit on.

I am counting on the
ibrutinib
to work its magic and clear out the bone marrow but I understand it doesn't necessarily happen right away?
