Looking for advice on skin abnormality
I am on
hydroxycarbamide
and have recently (past 4 months) increased the dosage from 500/1000 alternate days to 1000 weekdays and 500 weekends (so only 2 tabs extra per week). I am also on aspirin and am noticing a lot of bruising recently.

Hydroxycarbamide
About to start this, but I see it advises protection for sex and oral sex, but I read a post saying this was only seen on the voice and macmillan .No one else advising. And people been using the drug for decades. How likely is it with oral sex that the other person will be affected by your bodily fluids

Ruxalitinib and Peg interferon
Hydroxycarbamide
was tried for a few months prior to his commencement of Ruxolitinib which at that time had little effect to his pruritus. He really now does not know how to proceed with these recommendations.

Treatment choice for ET
I'm currently on
Hydroxycarbamide
500/day and platelets are controlled. Looking at switching to a control drug that will ease tummy bloating. Hydroxy must be the safest/least problematic drug but it has given me bloating as a side effect.

Hi Yasmin I started taking
hydroxycarbamide
just over 3 years ago after being diagnosed with essential Thrombocythemia. I started on 5 x500mg per week and now take 8x500mg as my platelets have gone up. I have been lucky with side effects and feel my worst issue has been nausea and fatigue.

ET , Jak2 positive.
Having being diagnosed with ET last August, I have been on aspirin only until my haematologist said that with platelets rising to 540 I should start
hydroxycarbamide
500mg daily. I was also prescribed Allopurinol, 300mg daily. Has anyone else been prescribed Allopurinol?

Hydroxycarbamide
500mg Monday to Friday . I understand that I will be monitored closely to achieve the best balance of drugs and optimum platelet count which will take a few months.

A very special interview with Nona Baker Co Chair of MPN Voice & Professor Claire Harrison
Following a recent media article it also clarifies and reassures the importance of existing, very successful therapies such as
Hydroxycarbamide
and Interferons, which are used and reviewed as necessary in each patients individual journeyhttps://youtu.be/Pl3SWeZo0sA

I've been on
hydroxycarbamide

Dupuytren's contracture & Hydroxycarbamide
Hi all, I have had Dupuytren's contracture developing very slowly over the last 8 to 10 years, but since starting on HU a year ago it seems to have progressed much more, especially in the last 6 months and I'm wondering if there is a link here. It's not serious, I have a finger on each hand that is

Combining Hydroxycarbamide and Anagrelide
I was wondering how common it is to be on both of these at the same time, as I have since last summer. I am on quite high doses of both (plus aspirin) and my platelets still hover around the 700 or 800 mark. The side effects from the medication always seem worse than any symptoms of ET (for which I am

Burning Feet
After I started taking
hydroxycarbamide
for Essential Thrombocythaemia I experienced extremely unpleasant burning sensations in my feet after I had been in bed for a short while which prevented me sleeping. This lasted for many months and then stopped - I don’t know why.

Migraine Headaches with disturbance of speech
I have ET treated with 500 mg
hydroxycarbamide
daily. I am also taking the blood thinner - rivaroxaban - as I have had previous clots - and buprenorphine hydrochloride. I have just started on a small dose of Irbesartan for raised blood pressure.
