Pregnancy related APS
I have been recommended to take low dose asprin and then
heparin
once pregnant. The nurse consultant seemed a little vague and referred me to the internet. I still feel a little in the dark. I was wondering if anyone had been through a pregnancy on these meds and what experiences did you have?

Confused and worried
I recently went on a long haul flight and was advised to inject with
heparin
as a precaution. I'm new to this site, sorry about all the questions just hoping someone might be able to help. Anyone know of any support groups in Berkshire? Thanks HWickers

LOW INR - ON WARFARIN AND CLOPIDIGREL - FUNNY TURNS, FACE FEELS WARM
I was on low

Before I was on Aspirin for about 10 years and then when I went to have operation in March was told to stop, and then I was put on low dose

Constant back and leg pain - a symptom of APS?
My INR fluctuates and is difficult to manage and I have regular daily injections of
heparin
(on another course at the moment for the last 4 weeks and INR level not budging!)

A three week trial of
heparin
helped to improve the headaches. She was ultimately started, in 2010, on warfarin, keeping the INR high at 3.5-4. Six months later, she was a ‘changed person’. Not only had the headaches gone but, interestingly, the blotchy livedo skin had improved.

INRS up and down, weekly tests since April!
I had been taking Aspirin up until op in March and then I just had
Heparin
, and I still suffered from TIA - since having the operation I have just felt so bad all the time, like funny heads etc, whereas before even though I had a low platelet count, I took Aspirin and I had occasional head problem but

Anaemia or not. Seen a haematologist today.
Basically went to see haemo today because I wanted to alter from warfarin back to
heparin
and the GP said he was out of his depth. His words. Well, never seen one before because I was diagnosed by a prof Hughes..

As few weeks longer on
heparin
then almost certainly on to warfarin, with an INR in the high 3 range. And we will be testing her relatives, a number of who have histories of seizures and migraine. References 1. Govoni et al.

Anyone just on heparin/clexane instead or warfarin?
I've seen some say they switched back to
heparin
instead of warfarin. Just wondering how you know you are on the right dose? Also do you bruise a lot where you inject? When pregnant I was on clexane and my belly was black and blue where I injected.

Secondly, ‘modern’
heparin
(low molecular weight
heparin
, such as Fragmin or Clexane) is very safe, its only problem being that it requires injection. (Many, many pregnant Hughes syndrome patients take
heparin
injections for 8-9 months). Mrs BJ returned after three weeks. All headaches gone!

Paleo Diet
People take one thing for pain, another for GERD, something else for neurological issues, and of course, Coumadin and/or
Heparin
. Now I am not against medicine. I take my Coumadin religiously and have my INR checked.

Can someone help me with symptoms? Is is possible to be on Heparin and Warfarin and still experience awful symptoms? Help please.
I am now injecting
heparin
and have upped my Coumadin dosage. These symptoms come and go, it seems. Is this normal for APS? Or should I be looking at other causes? I mean, I thought once your INR was in range, you shouldn't have problems.

package insert contains a warning of the inaccuracy of the machine for patients with Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome
This test should not be used to monitor persons on
heparin
therapy. In vitro studies showed the CoaguChek Systems Tests are sensitive to levels of
heparin
over 0.15 U/mL. When a patient is on intravenous infusion therapy, do not collect sample from arm receiving infusion line.

Hard Lumps When Skin Is Bruised
Hello All, I am on 120mg
heparin
and 10mg warfan. For the last three months if I bruise myself it creates a hard lump....it eventually goes away. I have never had this before. Does anyone else have this? Is it worth worrying about? Your thoughts?...thanks Mysty

Not the whole truth because I've forgotten most of it!
After 1 more pregnacy loss using
heparin
therapy I had my 2nd child (using
heparin
) in 2006. I had her by c/section which was a very long process (30 mins of trying to get her out using forceps) and I had a nasty allergic reaction to the dressings they used on my wounds.
