Isolated
Do we have to isolate ourselves since we have a weaken immune system? It says on the news the people that have to get the flu jab are included. I feel perfectly fine and am working! Hope everyone takes care.

AM I IN THE VULNERABLE GROUP?
Have you been told you should have the annual flu jab? If yes, you are in the vulnerable group. (Per PHE advice)

Bit nervous about what to do.
I'm still confused about what to do with this COVID 19 virus, should I self isolate for 14 days or...I was diagnosed with PV in 2017. I am due for a venesection on 27th of this month. Take low dose of aspirin 75mg one a day. I feel fine. Also do have asthma and I haven't had a flu jab. Just confused by

New Patient with ET for 18 years but developed some odd symptoms!
Hi - I am new to the group and have had ET for 18 years. I have been lucky to be able to have 2 healthy children while being treated on pegulated interferon for 9 years but have since developed odd symptoms which they do not know whether is related to the drug or not?!! I have been in and out of GP/Hospital

Official Government advice on who is in the ‘at risk’ category for Covid-19
From www.gov.uk “We are advising those who are at increased risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19) to be particularly stringent in following social distancing measures. This group includes those who are: aged 70 or older (regardless of medical conditions) under 70 with an underlying health

Pregnancy and Coronavirus
How worried are you about Coronavirus whilst you’re pregnant? Pregnant women have been told to stay at home, I have my 12 week appointment tomorrow. I presume it goes ahead as usual? I haven’t got a flu shot as I have been wanting to get one when I go to my first appointment to make sure it’s the right

Returning to work
My asthma is currently out of control, I’ve had 12 admissions in the last 6 months, I’m nearly always in resus when I get unwell. I’ve been on steroids since October and currently can’t get lower than 20mg. - the steroids have ruined my immune system, I ended up in isolation 2 weeks ago with influenza

Use of PNEUMOCOCCAL vaccine for transplantees in the Covid-19 era
Should people with suppressed immune systems be advised to have this vaccine? I read that some people dying of Covid actually die of pneumonia. Would it potentially save some people. The cost to the NHS is less than £9 or £17 for a pre-filled syringe.

Why the panic?
Could someone please explain to me why there is so much panic around the coronavirus? The mortality rate is between 3 and 4 percent of confirmed cases but with many people, especially children, experiencing very mild symptoms this rate is likely much lower as these mild cases are not tested and as such

COV19 and Tetralogy Of Fallot
Any connection between novel coronavirus and Tetralogy Of Fallot? Any reason to be more cautious since there is no vaccine yet? I have been advised to always get my flu shots, even though I have gotten the flu and recovered fine. I guess they tell me that as an extra safety measure.

Nursing with ET during concerning times.
This issue is something I would like Maz to ask the medical team ( if this is possible!) about but also others in a similar position. Pneumococcal vaccine in short supply.
Today, Sharon has officially been diagnosed with moderate COPD, about which I have had strong suspicions about, for over a month. The GP has said she needs to have the Pneumococcal vaccine, of course, especially with working in a nursing home. Sharon then asks the receptionist to make an appointment

Coronavirus concerns
I'm sure we're all worrying about this but as they didn't think I was 'vulnerable' enough for a flu jab as I'm undiagnosed (I have FM and ME) I'm wondering if I'm considered vulnerable for this. I'm 60 and had pleurisy over 25 years ago. I also worry about other family members, one who has MS and also

Is a universal flu vaccine on the horizon?
Every fall, millions of people roll up their sleeves for a flu vaccine, hoping to give their immune system a leg up on influenza. But the flu virus has thousands of strains that mutate and evolve across seasons, and the vaccine can’t guard against all of them. Now, two groups of researchers have independently
