There are two main types of full-blown diabetes. People with type 1 diabetes are completely unable to produce insulin. People with type 2 diabetes can produce insulin, but their cells don't respond to it. Pre-diabetes means that the cells in your body are becoming resistant to insulin and your blood

GLUCOSE
Glucose is a type of sugar that all cells of the body use as fuel. It moves through the blood to different parts of the body at normal levels (5.0-7.7mmol/dl). But if glucose levels are persistently elevated in the bloodstream, it becomes a slow-acting poison killing the body. When a person has diabetes

Diabetes under control without medicine- true story.
I am a living example of controlling type 2 diabetes through low carb diet and excercise. I recently joined the diabetes club detecting blood sugar for the first time in April last. About 10 months before that I was not diabetic. But when detected, I was very high on BG 290 (FBS) and 390 (PP) with HBA1C

Fructose breath test
I have just had this done today ( finally) and it showed positive. Does anyone know EXACTLY what this means? Firstly I am sure it means fructose malabsorption. Secondly, I was advised that taking a fructose test covers the lactose and glucose tests too so there was no need to test for those

Splenda® Sucra-Highs and Sucralose: Miracle Sweetener or Cause of Leukemia?
While millions around the world consume foods and beverages sweetened with Splenda (sucralose) with abandon, an accumulating body of research indicates that this synthetic chemical is far from safe, may contribute to obesity and blood sugar disorders, and more recently has even been linked to leukemia

The HbA1c or A1C Test
In the blood stream are the red blood cells, which are made of a molecule, haemoglobin. Glucose sticks to the haemoglobin to make a 'glycosylated haemoglobin' molecule, called haemoglobin A1c or HbA1c. The more glucose in the blood, the more haemoglobin A1c or HbA1c will be present in the blood.

Please can someone help with my daughter's symptoms - doctors this afternoon.
A while ago I asked the question below. I am taking my daughter (33) to the doctor late this afternoon because she has been 3 times on her own and has been told there is nothing wrong with her. For 5 weeks she has had a swollen tongue (doctor gave her mouth wash) and is now feeling dizzy. Her hair
