PMR question with up coming MRI
He explained to me that it was
glucagon
, which is a hormone used to increase blood sugar levels, it took me another three hours to where I felt at least a little better. I am scheduled for another MRI for this coming July and they need
glucagon
to help show any progress of cancer.

symptomatic bm’s
The ACTH was borderline and there was a flat response to the
glucagon
test. In the same year I paid for a saliva test which showed the level of cortisol to be ok. So I only have to take oral hydrocortisone if I’m having surgery, in stressful situations or injury.

Not about PCa but interesting: GLP-1 Receptor Agonists help with colorectal cancer
"A research letter recently published in JAMA Oncology has provided some promising insights into the potential of
Glucagon
-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) in lowering the risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) among patients with type 2 diabetes.

Drug fails in Phase II trial for treating Parkinson's Disease - Exenatide (Byetta, Bydureon)
An investigation brain penetrant, pegylated analogue of the
glucagon
-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist exenatide (Byetta, Bydureon) known as NLY01 did not lead to improvement in Parkinson's disease symptoms compared with placebo.

Key Points: - This multi-center French trial studied Lixisenatide which is a
glucagon
-like peptide-1 receptor agonist used for in diabetes. - The trial was a phase 2 double-blind randomized and placebo-controlled. - The authors wanted to know whether this drug would affect the progression of motor disability

Diabetes drug may help slow progression of Parkinson’s – study
The drug belongs to a group of medicines called
glucagon
-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (or GLP-1R agonists) that work by mimicking the action of a natural gut hormone that is produced after eating food.

Semaglutide as an Answer for ADT Fat Gain & Obesity
Glucagon
-Like-Peptide 1 receptor. It has revolutionized treatment for T2DM. You have seen the ads, it is marketed as Rybelsus in an oral weekly pill form, and as Ozembic in a once weekly injection. And Semaglutide causes weight loss, fat loss very efficiently and predictably.

Anti diabetic medications thiazolidinediones or GLP-1 receptor agonists may benefit PCa treatment
•Based on meta-analysis, the use of thiazolidinediones or
glucagon
-like peptide-1 receptor agonists may be associated with a lower risk of prostate cancer in patients with diabetes.

Exercise can trigger
glucagon
which drives gluconeogenesis, also producing glucose. If my muscles are fat adapted, maybe they just didn't use the glucose, thus keeping it elevated. Do I need a ketone metre to confirm I am fat adapted?

Stress and a Short Synathcen Test
It seems like there may be other alternatives which include the
Glucagon
test, ACTH and the insulin stress test, or am I barking up wrong trees? Do the NHS readily offer alternatives? Any ideas?
