Blood sugar control
I have been managing blood sugar after joining this forun with a combination of diet and medicine. After various experiments I have come to conclude that low carb diet with reduced medicine (1/2 tab glynase mf after bfast and dinner) gives me the best result and controls blood sugar within normal levels

Dymista (new treatment for hay fever)
http://www.mims.co.uk/news/1178978/Dymista-new-combination-intranasal-rhinitis-treatment/ Thought I'd post this as a separate blog for anyone struggling with hay fever (excessive pollen levels are expected this year) Only just approved by NICE, available on prescription, it's a combo of antihistamine

Should I go to the doctor?
Hi Thomas has been using his blue inhaler every day for over a week now to relieve the cough. We are using 4-6 puffs of ventolin each time and that seems to stop the coughing for a couple of hours. I am just wondering if I should be getting him checked over as we don't usually have to use the blue inhaler

First meeting with pulmonologist
I meet with the pulmonologist tomorrow afternoon - it is a very short meeting (15 minutes) so I assume all that will happen is some history, some preliminary feedback, and some referrals for tests. I'm guessing also moving forward that my GP will be able to use him as a resource now that he will have

What are the side effects of the medicine ECOSPRIN?
My diabetes was detected in 2007 and I am 58 years old. I have been taking one GLYCIPHASE SR 1GM before dinner and one Ecosprin 75 mg after BF for about 4 years. Another tablet GLYNASE 5 mg (half tablet) was added before breakfast for the last 5 months after the PP Sugar level was detected to be 261.

Fed up and things dont seem to be getting much better...
Hi Warning before I start this may turn into a bit of a rant.... Thomas was last admitted just before Christmas (his 7th hospital trip since beginning of August). It turned out he had a lower respiratory infection and discharged the next day with a 5 day course of pred and a 10 day course of co-axoxiclav

Hi How is your son getting on now? <<touchwood>> Thomas seems to be better at the moment on his new medications although he hasn't picked up any colds or viruses for a while now that will be the proper test. Unfortunately, getting repeats of the medications the consultant prescribed at the hospital

Serevent Problems
Just wondering if anyone has had problems with Serevent at all? I've had asthma for about 17 years, but for the last 5 years had the most awful cough. All of the doctors I saw either gave me antibiotics or steroids but the cough still persisted. Last August I was at the end of my tether with it,
