Flecainide 2 years
I have been taking 100mg 2 times daily and it has held my PAF at bay. Are there any long term side effects from taking the drug? How long can this be effective? I'm very happy that it is working but could anyone answer the above? Thanks Mark

Cardio- Gastric - Vagus nerve interaction
After several attempts with different medications it was completely controlled with
Flecainide
and bisoprolol for the past 8 years. However during this past year I have had intermittent high blood pressure and high or low bpm.

Never ending flu ... could it be flecainide?
It may have nothing to do with the flec (my suspicion) but has anyone else experienced prolonged periods of being sick on
flecainide
?

Practical types of tachycardia
If no joy in 20-30 minutes, crunch and swallow some
flecainide
. Type 2. Ditto. Consider taking
Flecainide
before the tachycardia starts. Type 3. Take action fast: some bisoprolol. If I am wrong, I have done no harm. The heart is needing some help to get back to resting state.

TIA-AF and Apixabam
I have suffered from AF for many years and was on
Flecainide
for over 20 and was changed to Sotalol last year. On the 31st August I had a TIA, after carotid artery scanning consultant told me I have an occlusion in my artery and TIA was a result of a blood clot due to my AF.

Flecainide mood changes?
Hi all I've been on flec for a few days and am a changed person - for the worse. After a couple days I became highly emotional, bursting into tears and unable to sleep properly due to anxiety. Also heart is doing flip flops more than ever. Don't see EP next till 15 September. Has anyone had this

Should I have ablation for my AF !!?
I am on beta-blockers and he thinks that I am not a good candidate for
Flecainide
. Reading the posts on this site I am left confused with the pros. and cons. of this procedure. Remembering that I had my first AF in Jan 2016 ( I think !!

Sinus rhythm returned on it's own
After quickly returning to afib after 2 recent cardioversions, my dose of
flecainide
was doubled to 100mg twice a day. A third cardioversion was scheduled for today, but I returned to sinus (normal) rhythm yesterday and will not need that 3rd procedure.

Tambacor V Generic Flecainide
For those who are unaware Tambacor was the original branded
Flecainide
and for many years the only
Flecainide
. I found previously when generic drugs first hit the market that I went into AF more frequently. I asked the doctor to specifically prescribe
Flecainide
.

ANNUAL ECG
I used to have an annual ECG at the GPs Surgery because I am taking
flecainide
and Atenolol.. The Hospital suggests that I should still be having this but my GP said it is not needed unless I go into AF and will not be done automatically every year now.

Ablations as first line response
The last time I went into a-fib I brokethrough 100mg/day of
flecainide
so have now started discussions with EPs. I am 42 - healthy and reasonably fit, but do have a structural abnormality in my aortic valve which means I am at best only about 95% right (that's my heart, my head is less good!).

Just taken first flecainide
After a few delays I have taken first
flecainide
(50mg) at home, with ecg and check up booked for 12 September. Just a bit scared as I know many people start it in a medical location on a ECG. When do I worry?

Tambocor v Generic Flecainide - more frequent incidences of PAF - update
I managed to get back to NSR within an hour by taking extra
Flecainide
(generic - all I have) plus 2.5Mg of Bisoprolol. My latest episode of AF is the fourth in a week which is totally unprecidented for me in all the years I have had PAF.

Flecainide
Been on
flecainide
4 months now, take it morning and evening. Only side effect for me is stomach upsets, particularly in the evening. Mint tea helps. But... I will put up with that as up to now no AF, except ones lasting seconds. So I am happy for now. Best wishes, Pat

25 years of PAF - 5th Ablation completed – progress report
During the procedure I went into AF a couple of times and had to have a DC Cardioversion each time then they administered IV
Flecainide
. My EP Cardiologist said to me afterwards that my heart very readily slipped back into AF during the procedure (nothing new there).

8 weeks - so far, so good!
I'm just about to finish the omeprazole, but will carry on with my other meds (Diltiazem,
Flecainide
and Apixaban) until my review at the end of the year. Hoping to be able to reduce this medication then, but I will have to wait and see!!

Any point in going to A&E?
Had AF on Saturday evening and tested out
Flecainide
PiP strategy of 100mg followed by another 100mg an hour later. Didn't make any difference and I returned to sinus rythum after about 12 hours. Then, horror of horrors, it came back last night. Tried the flecanaide gain to no avail.
