Firmagon

My husband is going to start triplet therapy starting with a firmagon shot next week followed by chemo. How much is the typical gap between ADT and starting chemo - 2 weeks, 4 weeks ?

Started Firmagon in September, Lupron in December. I feel more comfortable discussing my treatment with my doctors from the knowledge I gain here. Still more to learn and more questions to understand. I’m glad I have this group in my corner. thank you

I didn't get a firmagon injection but I do have an updated prescription. 7. Their preference is to wait 2 months before giving me the injection but I can start next week if I push for it. 8.

Chemotherapy radiation and firmagon followed. My psa went way down for about 18 months. when it went up I discontinued firmagon and was put on Eliguard once every 4 months. PSA went down then started to increase once more.

Also , does the Firmagon or Eligard affect blood pressure ? .

I have now been on Firmagon (hormone therapy) for 23 months .I have stage 4+4 with an original PSA of 375.I had 6 rounds of chemo which killed off the majority of the cancer in bones and lungs.Only a couple of tiny spots in the lungs.

I guess as long as the Firmagon is working I'll stay with it but it would be nice to go through it twice a year instead of every month.

Started on firmagon in Nov, degalarix added in Dec, EBRT planned for this month, 40 sessions (over 8 weeks), but wont find out details until we see MO on Tuesday. So a few questions:1. On 29 Jan PSA was 0.21 ug/L, testosterone was 0.4nmol/L - that looks like a very good response to me ... is it?

One month Firmagon (synergy with the SBRT) followed by six months Bicalutamide since he says that is as efficient as Firmagon for low-volume metastatic disease with less side effects. SUV max for the two mets is 27 and 35.

I called my MO's office this morning and left a voice mail detailing my declining status and the fact that I was done with eligard and wanted to be reinstated on firmagon. So a nurse got back to me at 11:00 am and I'm scheduled to go get my shot at 1:00 pm.

PCA diagnosed 2018, PSA 6.7, GS 9 (lesions in both lobes of gland, no evidence of metastases), EBRT + Firmagon ADT treatment, ended spring 2019, PSA nadir <0.02 Nov 2019 before rising again.

He has started Firmagon + Darulotomide with Docetaxel planned in the coming weeks. We also got a second opinion from an MO at another NCCN. He reviewed the PSMA Pet scan with the chief radiologist there and they think that maybe just 3 of the mets would have shown up with conventional imaging.

Medical Oncologist suggested waiting for the next two months to see if it’s still rising… Diagnosed 06/2022 Gleason 8/9 Oligo metastatic 3 lytic lesions two resolved Started Firmagon 7/6/2022 Zytiga with Prednisone 7/20/2022 currently still on these meds Docetaxel Chemotherapy on 08/11/2022

I had some good results years ago when I was still nmCRPC with Firmagon/Xtandi, but had to stop due to toxicities.

Had first 240 mg dose of firmagon on September 14 with no major side effects so far. Doctor used firmagon to avoid testosterone surge, and after conferring with MO, he agreed to have my husband stay with the firmagon.

I’m on Firmagon monthly, Zytiga with Prednisone, Metformin and Skyrizi for both plaque Psoriasis and a recent bout with colitis after discovering an h pylori infection since July 2023 I had a Davinci radical prostatectomy with pelvic lymph node removal, last March 2023 Gleason 8/9 Oligo metastatic

Doug Chinn, now retired in November 2004, started, HIFU in Germany 2016, then Firmagon and Zytiga in 2016(12 year vacation) with LOTS of biopsies, now Orgovyx daily and chemo when I call for it……passed on Enzulutamide and Darolutamide, they are medicine, and I want the proven poison.
