Triplet Therapy

My husband is going to start triplet therapy starting with a firmagon shot next week followed by chemo. How much is the typical gap between ADT and starting chemo - 2 weeks, 4 weeks ?

In ARASENS trial, ADT and Nubeqa was begun at least 4 weeks but no more than 6 weeks before chemo.

The triplet therapy consists of e.g. Firmagon plus Abiraterone and Chemo. According to this study you should start with Abiraterone and Chemo at the same time.

Different from what TA wrote. I would think that would be standard by now, but I guess not.

Hi,

I’ve been on Firmagon since 7/23. My urologist recommended I wait until 10/23 to start radiation, since incontinence worsens when on radiation. I’m sorry that I cannot supply information on the gap between Firmagon and chemo. I’m a pharmacist and searched the googles and no information available. I do know that Firmagon starts working right away, although the first shot ( 240 mg) can be more painful than the subsequent 80 mg/ month doses . I’d imagine a few months gap at least.
