Finished FCR - precautions until blood counts stabilise?
What are the precautions we should take and for how long after
FCR
? Have heard of delayed neutropenia and was wondering how long we need to be really careful, we sort of live in a protective bubble now except for work.

Post treatment check ups
I am interested to know what tests people get when they have checkups after
FCR
treatment? So, for my first checkup, three months after treatment i had CT scan, blood tests and bone marrow biopsy. I believe next checkup in June i'll only have blood test.

I am due a CT scan shortly after 6 rounds of FCR. My response was good and blood is ok.
Considering a CT scan is equivalent to 400 X Rays would it make more sense to leave it for further down the line?

Anyone out there experienced problems with their sodium levels while on FCR? Anyone stopped after 2 courses, how has their prognosis been?
I started
FCR
in March this year and have just had my second treatment. I didn't react too well to the first treatment - only half the Rituximab was given, I was too unwell on day two to continue.

Any advice about starting FCR?
Following all my tests and lymph node biopsy, I'm starting
FCR
on 20th March and feeling very nervous. Any advice out there on things that may help body and mind prior and during chemo? Any advice on reassuring an anxious 13 year old daughter and my husband? Jules

Three monthly hospital appt
Good to report that my blood counts are now normal two years after completing my first
FCR
treatments, so this is proof that this treatment can be very effective. I am hopeful it will be long lasting.

Patient Power interviews Dr Michael Keating at ASH 2012. FCR and the transition to better, kinder treatments.
In this 6 minute interview by Andrew Schorr, Dr Michael Keating of MD Anderson, the father of
FCR
, acknowledges that while
FCR
has given a third of patients sustained, deep remissions for 10 years or more, it is not a gentle therapy.

Reflections from Cardiff, news of CLL research and the changing trials landscape
Bendumustine a less toxic chemotherapeutic is being trialled with the next generation monoclonal antibody therapies to create a less toxic combination treatment option to
FCR
for this group in the not so long term. We will have to wait to see what unfolds with a lot of time.

Someone asked me what refractory means...
In CLL, patients can become refractory to a number of parts of a single treatment, like
FCR
...the common ones are fludarabine refractory and/or rituximab refractory...
