Feasibility of someone from out of USA joining a clinical trial in USA?
His six doses of Chemotherapy (carboplatin +
etoposide
) that ended seven weeks earlier. My understanding is that chemotherapy is the established regimen for High Grade NE Cancer/SCC. Are there significant benefits of joining clinical trials after chemotherapy for SCC?

Chemotherapy with Etoposide and Cisplatin
Has anyone on here had Chemo with these 2 drugs? Just wondering how you’re getting on in feeling normal? I’m 5 years post chemo and my entire body hurts from head to foot. Doctor is looking at possible Lupus but ANA test is negative. I have joint pain, muscle pain, basically pain anywhere and everywhere

Please boys, girls, can anybody advise or help explain why combined carboplatin & etoposide chemo are going to be used in next treatment
I’ve looked up
etoposide
and can’t find much about it, other than it’s an old drug, used for small cell cancer, but I thought small cell cancer gave a low psa reading, hubbys is high.

Update
He is starting Carboplatin-
Etoposide
chemotherapy tomorrow. Has anyone had this type of prostate cancer and been given this mix of chemo? We have basically been told that if this doesn’t respond there is little else they can do. Martin still has no symptoms. Feels fine and is working away.

A potential treatment side effect for many of us.
I have had hearing loss for many years but it took a plunge in the 6 months following my chemo with Carboplatin and
Etoposide
. My audiologist was alarmed enough to order an MRI to rule out acoustic neuroma.

Long term side effects of treatment
Hi everyone, My wife was treated for extrapulmonary small cell cancer, that presented in the breast, from Dec 2021 until Feb 2022 (4 cycles of Cisplatin/
Etoposide
with concurrent radiotherapy) - she had a good response to the treatment which led to surgery (mastectomy), which confirmed, via pathology

Implications of butyrate and its derivatives for gut health and animal production 2018
Butyrate has also been shown to enhance the effects of anticancer drug therapy including vincristine, celecoxib, cisplatin, and
etoposide
via its HDI activity, increasing the cytotoxicity of the drugs (Ramos et al., 2004, Kang et al., 2012, Maruyama et al., 2012).
