Has anyone been diagnosed with small vessel disease? I have suffered achy arms, especially when walking in the cold only occasionally.
Stress test &
echocardiogram
negative, but dr. says could be angina from SVD. Suggested trial of antacid & nitro, but haven't had an opportunity to try the nitro, as symptoms subside before I get back from my walk. Should I submit to vascular testing?

How long after tests should I expect an appointment to discuss the results?
I had an ambulatory 24 hour ECG on March 25th and an
echocardiogram
on April 3rd. I have no appointment to discuss the results and the consultant whose name was on the paperwork for both tests is, according to the sonographer, not a cardiologist but a general medical person.

Flying to USA, walking/hiking at altitude.
Have appointments at hosp next week 14th April and 15th April, for a 24hr ECG and an
echocardiogram
. (the outside the chest one). I am a normally fit and active 58 year old woman, I horse ride, muck out most days, and play badminton, walk the dogs etc etc.

Just a rant about my gp's surgery. Again.
No one noticed at the time but after your
echocardiogram
- last August - we were meant to listen to your heart again, and please come in so we can check your painful breast.

Heart Attack and Levothyroxine
On Thursday I had an
echocardiogram
and I was convinced I had a bad heart but nothing was found and the radiographer didn't even see any damage from the heart attack. I now wait till end of May for a follow up appointment.

24hour ECG this week, do I write down what I'm doing when I feel any palpitations or do they just read the ECG when it's finished?
I also have an
echocardiogram
next week so hopefully a diagnosis will be forthcoming, if these two tests pick up what I feel

Hi everyone...just been diagnosed with AF, 44 years old and at a total loss.
He confirmed the diagnosis with ECG and
echocardiogram
. Fortunately there is no evidence of heart disease etc and I have had a full blood analysis which shows no Hyperthroidism etc. This is all great news but i feel absolutely rubbish, each day is a struggle to do anything.

Stress Echocardiogram with Dobutamine
I have had PAF for a few years. I've had a successful IV Fleconide cardioversion a few years ago and more recently this year a successful electrical cardioversion. PAF comes and goes around every couple of weeks, usually preceeded by what seem like ectopic beats, but I can usually stop the AF by doing

24 hours post ablation! First off, if this works, I would do it again. (If unfortunately necessary!)
No GA, general anesthetic, light sedatives for; the TEE/TOE, US or UK spelling, (transesophageal
echocardiogram
) , and some for the ablation, and I was cardioconverted once when I didn't return to SR. I was put to sleep for ten minutes for the cardioversion, no feeling of it and no memory.

New to the forum...hi everyone...
I've had an
echocardiogram
and another electrocardiogram, and have been put on Bisoprolol (2.5mg) as a precaution. I'm also having a heart monitor fitted for a few days later this month and have a follow up appointment in June (!).

Can I get hold of my scans on computer disc?
Some years ago I had an
echocardiogram
& a carotid scan, & I`m wondering if I can get a copy of them on computer disc. Would my doctor let me have them, or are these things confidential?

A second transophical echocardiogram before second ablation.
Had appointment with my general cardiologist last week and just as I was about to leave he decided that before I had my second ablation his wanted to do another transophical
echocardiogram
had one four years ago before heart surgery). Any idea why he would want to do this?

Can I 'take away' my echocardiogram results from my gp?
Here we advocate asking for a printout with test results, but how does one do this for an
echocardiogram
? Are there printed results or a disc or - ? I had it done in Aug and no one has ever discussed it with me.

RF Ablation date set and now millions of questions! Not the first time you've heard that I suppose.
No GA, pain meds if needed (morphine derivatives from what I understand - don't have the name yet) A few questions: TEE - did everyone have a transesophageal
echocardiogram
prior or during? How many of you required electrical cardioconversion during or at the end of the procedure?

'Heavy' feeling in the lungs :-(
(Picked up in an
echocardiogram
that I had requested) had to go to hospital yesterday for cardioversion as I had gone back into flutter again, pulse was 142bpm. second shock got me back into sinus rhythm and pulse was 62bpm and I was sent home.

Has awareness of Takayasu's by cardiologists improved. I first saw a cardiologist in 2001 but not diagnosed till 2011.
I have just discovered this forum and am finding it very interesting and informative. I would like to hear how others have been diagnosed with Takayasu's arteritis? Has awareness of Takayasu's by cardiologists increased over the years or is it just good fortune that I eventually saw a cardiologist
