Has anyone taken Dutasteride? Also called Avodart? It’s to shrink the swelling of your prostate. I just want to know if it’ll make you not be able to get an erection and an orgasm? It say not to take cialis with it. Why not?

It causes sexal dysfunction in about 20% of men.

I took Dutasteride for 8 months after PCa diagnosis. My PSA dropped from 10 to 2.4 after 5 months. I also took Cialis during that time, with no problems. I can still get an erection and have an orgasm.

Dutasteride was found to shrink PCa tumors by 30% after 6 months, compared to a 17% increase in men who took a Placebo (as measured by MRI scans).

Approximately 20-30% of men with PCa don't respond to Dutasteride, however.

I started taking it at the end of July. I've had no adverse reactions. I was on 1mg of Finasteride for nearly 30 years. I switched because janebob99 sent me a bunch of studies that clearly showed the benefits.

I haven't seen a change in PSA or tumor size yet, but it could be too early to tell. Maybe since I was already on Fin, it will have less effect for me.... hard to know.

Thanks. I’m going to try 0.5 mg. if it affects my libido or causes ED I’ll just stop taking it.

i’ve been taking it since since released in 2001, my libido has skyrocketed to be honest with you all these years.. About to start my fourth SBRT treatment Monday and finish up with the fifth on Tuesday at MSK MRI Electra unity. My RO wants me to stay on it so we can get a baseline in three months of PSA..

I took it for hairloss, more potent than proscar/propecia.
