Pain management
Not actually about asthma although the asthma is a reason it is a problem. I get from time to time kidney stones, since my asthma has taken a turn for the worse this is a problem as I can't use the powerful pain killers (Morphoine type things) I used to use cos in the dosage needed to have any effect

Advice on superficial phylebiti & Ibuprofen gel
I've got superficial phylebitis. I've had it a few weeks now. Unfortunately it got infected so i had to take a course of antibiotics. It was so painful last friday i had to go to A&E where they tested me for DVT. Luckily it came back clear but the only way it can clear up quicker is by taking anti-inflammatorys

Spirometry
Hello everyone I just joined the forum today. I wonder if anyone has had experience of being told that their spirometry age is far younger than their actual age? I'm very confused at the moment. Was diagnosed with asthma and bronchiectasis 3 years ago after really bad chest and two weeks of solid

NSAID alternatives
Hello guys, just thought I'd pick your brains. NSAIDs set off my asthma, but I find that paracaetamol doesn't really deal with muscle pain very well. Does anyone know of any alternatives I could take that don't fall under the NSAID class? Preferably over the counter, but prescribed if otherwise...

Painkillers and Asthma
Can anyone suggest painkillers that are 'safe' to use with asthma (either over the counter or that I could speak to my GP about)? I can't use NSAIDs as they seem to exacerbate my asthma (not immediately, but I definitely get more breathless and more of a cough about an hour after - and since my asthma

Voltarol/NSAID pain relief gels
Hey, just after some clarification and thought some of you may have the answers :) So I have an old shoulder injury (lots of dislocations followed by an operation to stabilise the joint) that has flared up over the last 10 days - your typical over the counter pain meds are not really touching it so

Drug Allergies
Just looking for a little reassurance as well as others' experiences. I was wondering how common drug allergies are and if they're more common in individuals with asthma? I've always known I'm allergic to Aspirin and NSAIDs, but when in hospital recently, I had an allergic reaction to another IV drug

Heads up, Medical advice - nebulisers and NSAIDs
May need to keep an eye on posts by Lola as she has replied to a new younger member asking in 'Medical > Ventolin!?' http://tinyurl.com/7kfru8n about their newly started steroid inhaler and recommended asking OOH/GP about nebulisers as they helped her when waiting for preventer to kick in? I have replied

Has anyone become sensitive to ibuprofen etc when they used to be ok with it?
Just curious if anyone has developed a sensitivity when they were ok with NSAIDs before? Thought I was fine with it, but have had this flare-up for nearly two weeks now, using loads of reliever, slower walking etc - I feel I'm slipping back to how I used to be with no control at all. I wondered about

Too allergic for allergy tests?!
I had a hospital appointment today with a view to have some scratch/patch testing to try and figure out what I'm reacting to, but was told that I couldn't have it done because I would have to stop my allergy meds and some of my asthma meds and they thought it was too risky.I just couldn't help but appreciate
