How I reinvented my life after GCA.
I had already retired as a Flight Attendant from a large commercial airline. I then went on to a part time job which I absolutely loved. I always said I was never going to stop working. I was healthy and could literally run rings around the younger employees. Life was good and I was so happy. 4 months

Follow up to my last post about nausea & unable to eat.
Hi again folks. I posted 16 days ago about feeling weak, nauseous & being unable to eat plus my reluctance to go to A & E as I'd been with similar symptoms just a couple of weeks before. However, I did go to A & E where I was admitted after a blood test confirming low sodium levels (again) and a really

It's starting out a better year for me.
For the first time since my accident I had a blood test that came back a lot more positive for me than it is. Since i had my TBI i have been having my blood tests done nearly every month which always came back low for sodium. I was diagnosed with SIADH and i changed my diet by myself to help my sodium

Feeling cold despite overactive thyroid
I feel the cold all the time but GPs can't seem to find an issue. I'm currently in a heated home with three jumpers and two pairs of socks on, plus a blanket! GP did full blood tests, showing an overactive thyroid but all other tests within range (detailed below). I take 100mcg Levothyroxine a day and

Chest pain and using the GTN spray
Hello. I am now 5 weeks in after a heart attack which came completely out of the blue and then angioplasty with aortic stent. I'm a retired policeman and now retired linguistics professor. I thought I was super fit, walking 14,000 steps a day on average when, just last week, I found even a short walk or physical exertion caused me severe dizziness, and breathlessness. It was extremely sudden. I was referred to my local hospital

Heart meds problem airport security
I have just read an alarming report of a woman being stopped and questioned by airport security because apparently her heart meds contain traces of an ingredient which is also used in making explosives- nitroglycerin. Anyone else in this position should be aware in case they encounter the same situation

Hi Everyone and thanks for all your replys to my previous post. My Wife ended up phoning for an Ambulance at 01:30 this morning as I couldn't breathe or feel my legs. I used my GTN SPRAY but didn't help. Anyway the Ambulance man was brilliant he did all the checks and was talking to my wife about me.

Running with angina
prior to contracting Covid in April 23 I was very fit and regularly ran up mountains and 2/3 hour runs was my usual at least once a week plus some kind of activity every day. With COVID I developed chest tightness and breathlessness, particularly worse on exertion. I repeatedly said that it felt like

MV Angina - Beaty fluttery heart when eating and drinking
I was diagnosed last year with MV angina and put on tildium and aspirin with GTN spray as a side order to use when needed. All has been relatively ok until past couple of days - when eating or drinking it feels like palpitations(?) a very heavy beaty chest and almost breathlessness sensation. It passes

Angina at rest but not when exercising
Hello , does anyone else get Angina at rest when anxious/stressed, but not when exercising? If so , was there any medication/therapy that helped you? I have confirmed myocardial ischemia during a mycocardial perfusion scan , and unobstructed arteries , confirmed by an angiogram , I do have narrowing

Update to Feeling overwhelmed
Apologies for the long post. I was referred to the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic by my GP as she is unsure if my chest pain and breathlessness is down to my lung conditions or if I have angina. I attended the clinic 2 weeks ago and was referred for a heart CT angiogram where they inject a contrast

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any low salt cheddar cheese? I need to go on a low salt/sodium diet and I love cheddar cheese but not so keen on the soft cheeses. Thanks
