Docetaxel

2 weeks ago I completed my six treatments of Docetaxel. I am to go for both a CT scan and a nuclear bone scan next week as a follow up. Originally I was found to have multiple metastasis on my upper skeletal frame, therefore the Docetaxel.

When I had the Docetaxel last year there was no way I could have undertaken an arduous trip. So, what kind of side effects can I expect? Would I be mad to go? Will I feel ill all the time? Also I am as bald as a coot now after the WBRT - sniff - is there no hope that the hair will regrow???

An updated, subgroup analysis of the ENZAMET trial among newly diagnosed men with metastases confirms the triplet of ADT+enzalutamide+docetaxel increases survival. 5 year survival was 60% for the triplet vs 52% for ADT+docetaxel.

Early docetaxel probably didn't help any (as has been shown by now in STAMPEDE) but the hope is that the rest of it was worth it. Early treatment this aggressive in my type situation has not been proven efficacious either but my hunch (shared by my MO) is that could be.

Spouse21 ended his 10th docetaxel infusion over two years ago, which is a very decent result that a lot of men don't experience. Who knows why? We sure don't. He's on the Lupron life sentence and gets an Xgeva shot every three months. Both suck.

53 yrs male post BSO Diagnosed metatstatic CRPC progressed on abiraterone , docetaxel , cabazetaxel started on enza since aug 21 added Lu-PSMA therapy since Sept 21 (received 3 sessions) Progression on PSMA scan, 2/3 new bone sites, PSA 22.7 (Aug 21) to 43.3 (Mar 22) FDG low burden.

Got through 4 docetaxel cycles.

I started my therapy in March with ADT + Docetaxel every 28/21days. PSA dropped to 13 last month and to 3 last week. I generally feel good and blood tests are good too.

Thirty-five percent of patients had not received prior docetaxel, and 45% of docetaxel-pretreated patients had not received prior cabazitaxel -- treatments proven to improve survival in the mCRPC setting.

After a combination of Degarelix, 3x Lu-177, 3 x Docetaxel my PSA was 98% reduced to 0.19 and scans showed a strong response but some activity remained so I followed up with 3x SBRT to T9 which was still showing ( a much reduced 1.5 SUV) and 20 lots of VMAT radiation to prostate and oelvic area and a

with docetaxel. He heard the yet unpublished results are very good. Anyone heard of this or know about this? Thanks very much to all who post.

PSMA PET and FDG PET as predictors of response and prognosis in a randomized phase 2 trial of 177Lu-PSMA-617 (LuPSMA) versus cabazitaxel in metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) progressing after docetaxel. (TheraP ANZUP 1603).

After 4yrs and several treatment protocols (zytiga, docetaxel, xtandi, lu177, cabazitaxel, cabazitaxel+carbo) my husband now has numerous mets on the spine and his pca has traveled to the rectum as well. Nothing worked. PSA kept rising altho his pca emits little PSA.

Completed 7 cycles of chemotherapy (Feb 2022 - June 2022). Rising PSA and imaging had shown progression with intra-abdominal disease, and new lung involvement. Switched to cabazitaxel and has completed two cycles, needs to complete 8 more. Isn't tolerating it well.

I am stage 4 (diagnosed 09/2016) gleason 9, tx has been docetaxel, lupron, xgeva, and zytiga. Please let me know what you guys think. Best, Philip

I've been on Lupron for 2 mo. now and recently finished my 2nd chemo (docetaxel). I've noticed recently that my skin is very soft & smooth. Still have most of my body hair. Skin used to be rough in spots and dry in spots, but now that's gone. Could this be the lack of testosterone?

Hubby had been through 10 sessions of docetaxel in 2021 where PSA went down to 1.1 (previously 117 at start of chemo). He got a break from it for 2 months, but it climbed back up to 46.8 and had to go back on docetaxel again. It didn't work as well as last time - his PSA never got below 24.

Ive read the trial results but they don’t include ADT+darolutamide with docetaxel. Im 64 and healthy with no symptoms.

Arm H found significant improvement by adding SBRT/SABR to Primary Prostate gland in addition to Lupron, Abi, Docetaxel (Triple ADT) to Oligometastatic Men, or low Metastatic Burden Men. 81% of Men were Alive at 3yrs of all causes vs 73% with Trip ADT alone.
