Questran
I’ve been taking Questran for five days now, to stop itching related to jaundice. Does anyone else have experience of this medication and how soon does it usually take effect? The itching is really impacting on my quality of life.

New family member of cirrhosis sufferer
Hi my husband has alcoholic cirrhosis and pretty well all the associated complications but according to him he is fine and living his life the way he wants. He gets up to go to work at 5.30 to go work to fund his habit and pay the debts. I am so depressed we have no support and he won’t go to his hospital

Help required - symptoms + fiberscan advised?
Hi everyone I'm new to this group and have been checking your posts, which have already been immensely helpful! I'd like to ask for your opinion on this: I'm 30 years old and have been having pale stools for the past year or so . More recently I started getting a lot of dizziness, weakness and palpitations

Spironolactone - Sore Nipples
About 5 weeks ago I was prescribed Spironolactone to help with my Edema, it worked very well but I now have extremely tender nipples that seem to have a solid mass behind them. Has anyone else had this reaction? Did stopping the Spironolactone solve it?

Hi all, I was stage 4 cirrhosis with ascites, and took the diuretic spiro for over 12 months, which (along with alcohol abstinence) got me to re-compensated stage 2 with no ascites. Since then I have tapered the spiro, and 2 weeks ago quit completely. So far, thankfully I have not had any rebound gaining

My encouraging experience lowering my liver enzyme levels in 20 days.
I just received my test results after 20 days of abstaining from alcohol and following a diet of ONLY liver beneficial foods and probiotics. AST was 125, it’s now 32 (normal) ALT was 62, it’s now 44 (normal) GGT was 468, it’s now 110 (still above) BILIRUBIN TOTAL was 0,9, now 0,3 (normal) PANCREAS

Some questions/discussion topics on fatty liver
Hi, Was advised I had a fatty liver at the end of 2018 (likely from alcohol, but see one of q’s Below). 1. Alcoholic fatty liver vs non alcoholic, is this more the treatment for it as opposed to two different diseases? I.e, neither are medically distinguishable? How are people who eat badly, don’t exercise

The importance of eating
Hello all. I was hoping you could comment and talk about how important an eating schedule is for people with cirrhosis. My fiancé doesn’t think it’s important, no matter what I say. I want him to understand the importance of this as he had muscle wasting when he was diagnosed in December. He has an appetite

Liver hemangioma
Good afternoon I'm new here. I have just been diagnosed with 2 liver hemangiomas. One is only2 cm the other is 6 cm. I've had symptoms from them. I have my appointment with consultant next month. Don't know what to expect. Don't understand all of the results I had doctors print for me. Was wondering

Fatty liver (I'm new here)
Hello All Hope you all are fine and well, as like good members, I also want to discuss about my health Last two weeks I did Ultrasound in which fatty liver becomes minimal to moderate, minimal is about one year ago. My sonologist recommends me to do fibroscan. After that, my fibroscan result is as CAP

Goodbye "snoutie"
It is a shame that within our society, there are those who sadly carry a personal bitterness towards others. I, like so many others joined this site so I could hopefully reach out and offer help, support and advice to others by calling upon my own personal experience, medical knowledge, and life age
