when to start dialysis
How did people decide when to start
dialysis
and do you feel better now that you are doing it. Would appreciate any advice and sharing. I am 82 years old so transplant is not in my future.

Thanks everyone
Brought him back home again yesterday and now all we have to worry about is his kidney function and trying to stave off
dialysis
as long as possible. They are monitoring him closely. The NHS have been brilliant with him.

Positive results after five months
I think of all of you who are facing and dealing with
dialysis
. My father did - and I dread being in that situation even though I also know that it IS doable. It’s not the end of the world! But today my results show creatinine at 81 umol/L and eGFR at 66. I hope I can keep it there!

A couple of questions
Hi, I have a couple of questions on
dialysis
. How do you know or what are the symptoms that say it's time to start
dialysis
? Then, what can happen when on
dialysis
? The downside of it. It's pretty easy to find the upside but not a lot on the downside and I'm sure there are some.

Happy to say that
dialysis
here follows protocol but with a liberty cycler. They have run a bunch of tests but no answer. They even did 5 cycles.

Knee and joint pain after dialysis
I am on
dialysis
for 5 yrs now post my first transplant failed. I get knee pain which gets bad immediately after
dialysis
and slows down in 1-2 days. It never goes away completely. I have checked for RA but it is negative. Anybody experienced this? Any solution?

Settling in on HHD, the good, bad and ugly….
If you are transitioning to any
dialysis
, and struggling with the life changing process, find a good mentor. You are not alone in your feelings, nor are they insignificant.

pd dialysis bags
I had an appointment today at my
dialysis
center for labs. They also wanted to prepare us for hurricane season if we lose power . I found it interesting they said if the room temperature where you store your pd
dialysis
bag get above 77 they are no good that bacteria can grow in it.

Starting Home Dialysis-Advice?
I had never been on
dialysis
before but now I have to go on. I have elected to do
dialysis
at home. I'm nervous about every part of it from doing it correctly to the amount of space I will need to store materials to whether or not I will actually feel better as a result. Any advice?

Seeking advice and comfort, please help.
My boyfriend was born with one kidney; took care of himself and now we are at the point where he needs
dialysis
. He’s already on the transplant list. It gets hard knowing how tired he is, losing weight, he doesn’t eat as much. I feel sad because I feel obligated to give him my kidney.

turned down transplant
He said he was not emotionally ready and chooses to remain on
dialysis
where he feels stability for the first time . I feel like an accomplice but I also know that I am supporting someone who has suffered tremendously over the last 17 years.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update everyone on what eventually happened with the home
dialysis
. I thank you all for your advice. I began the peritoneal
dialysis
last week. The nurse was very thorough, patient, and answered all my questions.

As the specialist rightly put it a transplant followed by ongoing
dialysis
is not a good outcome.
