APPROVED FOR KIDNEY TRANSPLANT BUT NEED A DONOR...HOW DO I GET MY STORY OUT? So scared about dialysis before getting a kidney.
Hi Sweet Friends.... hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well. I was approved for transplant at Mayo and am so grateful. My dear husbandand wanted to give me on of his kidneys but during his testing they found dangerously low platelets and found he has idiopathic ITP. After 2 hospitalizations

Not convinced
dialysis
did not play a role in this issue. If anyone has experienced this type of issue, please let me know what you did to ease the headaches. I really need to stay in treatment, but it is getting hard. Some thoughts I have had: It could potentially be caffeine withdrawal.

Massive Headaches During Dialysis
Unlike most
dialysis
patients I have low magnesium, low potassium, low sodium. The headaches I have are excruciating. I take 4x 500mg acetaminophen and it barely puts a dent into my pain. My Nephrologist, who I like and respect has said that headaches during
dialysis
are uncommon.

well….I guess this is it
im going to die soon….but im ok with it I had ten yrs to think about it so Im fine with leaving this world behind….it’s obviously a rational and well thought through choice (I absolutely refuse any transplants or
dialysis
or what ever is offered) ….I think its important to be careful with opinions

let's stay with positivity..
I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure at the age of 16 and had undergone
dialysis
continuously for 7 to 8 months. Fortunately My Father was my kidney donor and got my transplant on 2012, 10 yrs ago. I was at the age of 16 during that time.

How will my life change on PD?
I just found out that I'll be starting peritoneal
dialysis
in 2 weeks. When I went to the initial orientation several months ago the RN suggested that walking should be my only exercise. I typically walk, run, hike, kayak, snowboard, and cross-country ski during the different seasons of the year.

24 Urine Test=Higher GFR-Risk of no transplant??
I'm trying for a pre-emptive transplant as I am not yet on
dialysis
. But I know complete failure is my future as both my parents died on
dialysis
. I don't want to delay the transplant as I'm getting physically weaker and symptomatic.

Max UFR Rate in HD-Dialysis (3.5 Hours)
Can I ask you that during my
dialysis
, after a while they (the nurse or technician) always increase the UFR, and I figure out will be higher than the CMS guideline 13/ml/kg/hr, sometimes even 18/ml/kg/hr. I am afraid that Myocardial stunning could be happened. Kindly pls advise. TKS again.

Increasing liquid intake while on dialysis
It is over ten years since I received renal
dialysis
and ninety years since I was born. I owe my life to Guy’s Hospital - and to myself and, I suspect, to someone’s prayers for my experience is considered almost miraculous.

This Queen is thankful like Sunday morning
I was saying to someone on here, it's like playing with water balloons, you know you're going to get hit, you just don't know when or how hard and that how I'm feeling about
dialysis
. I'm realizing more and more that you still live life.
