PSMA Lutetium 177 treatment in Germany
Started hormone treatment (
degarelix
) same day, and apart from some expected hot flushes, no side effects, so this January, started chemo as well (docetaxel).

My Father's Journey / Interest in High Dose Testoserone
Using
Degarelix
, Casodex, Dutesteride and Finisteride. Scans in Germany revealed no bone metastasis and no PCa in any organs. But several lymph nodes were involved. After one year of TAB my Father’s PSA was 0.24.

Dad's first Oncology appointment
He was started on
Degarelix
a few days after diagnosis, and today, about 2 weeks later, he had a first meeting with his oncologist.

MSSC - Spinal Cord Compression
He has started ADT (
degarelix
to start but now Lupron) along with chemo (docetaxel) and has been enrolled onto the STAMPEDE trial. Gets the rare hot flush, but all in all you'd never really guess he was unwell at all.

Firmagon vs Prostap
Hello - following discussion my Dad's GP has suggested switching him off Firmagon (
Degarelix
) and on to Prostap after only one injection of the former. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

PSA Dropped but Testosterone level unchanged
He received his initial 2 shots of
Degarelix
28 days ago and was given 1 shot of Lupron today. However, we were just called to bring him back because his potassium levels are too high. Also, although his PSA dropped from 6.04 to 1.6, his testosterone levels remain exactly the same as 28 days ago.

Preparing for Round Two
When it started to climb again, my oncologist switched me to Firmagon (
degarelix
). Although my PSA has gone from 1.3 in July to 2.4 in August (almost doubling) my testosterone level remains undetectable (less than 0.1).

Dad's advanced Gleason 9 PCa
My dad began his anti-hormone treatment of
degarelix
(Firmagon) on June 30. According to his oncologist, he will continue hormone treatment and begin intense radiation in early October. He continues to walk, at least, 2 miles each day and continues to help care for his grandchildren.

Choice of treatment: lupron with casodex or degarelix?
My medical oncologist suggested
degarelix
as a substitute. Is there any downside to taking degarelex rather than the more usual lupin and cased? I was wondering what experiences men have had with
degarelix
, lupron and casodex? Has anyone taken all three agents?

Docetaxel failed
After 4 infusions of docetaxel, complemented by prednisone and monthly
degarelix
the scans show increased Timor size and quantity in lungs and liver. The oncologist cancelled tomorrow's chemo and I'm going for biopsy. Is there anyone out there with similar experience?

Docket axel and predisnone?
Degarelix
ever since and Cosudex a year ago due to rising PSA. This year bowel movements slow...scans found big tumor growing from prostate. 39 radiotherapy treatments finished 2 weeks ago. Today the Oncologist said it's likely I will go on docketaxel and predisnone.
