Three weeks after open heart surgery
During the day I feel ok, walking around, doing light jobs around the house. In the morning I feel sore and struggle to get out of bed, in the evening I have a painful pain across my left breast, ribs and down my back and continues even after taking painkillers.

Possible carotid artery problem discovered 3 weeks after double heart bypass surgery.
My hubby has been home for 2 weeks after his bypass surgery, and because of an ongoing vision problem, it's now suspected that his carotid artery also has blockage(s) and clots are happening. He's going to have an ultrasound urgently. Poor man, still very much recovering from surgery. Is this familiar

Open Heart Surgery Ahead
Born with a bicuspid valve I guessed this day was coming…just not so soon! I will be 56 when they open my chest on August 15th. I would much rather have the TAVR procedure but at my age the long term planning doesn’t support that method at this time. So, OHD it is. I have significant procedural anxiety

Which option for surgery
My dad has been waiting for open heart surgery for a valve replacement for 2 years. He is now faced with a second option, TAVI, rather than open heart. Does anyone have any experience or helpful advice? We are researching for him so that he can make an informed decision. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Back Pain
Can anyone tell me what painkillers I can take for persistent low back pain. I have tried most of them but for some reason nothing seems to work. I have heart failure and CKD, so can’t take Ibuprofen. At the moment I’m on dihydrocodiene and paracetamol which I know is strong but unfortunately it doesn

I have just read the many replies to Hammerhead . His post was about his “ open heart surgery “ in Papworth , due in June. The reples show me how technically “ uninformed” I am . May be that is a good thing for me. But , I have to confess to being slightly jealous of other people’s care. in 2000 I

Bra tips
Hi, I would like some help. I had some very comfortable supporting bras bought from my heart surgery.Alas these haven't offered much support at all after my breast procedure and became too tight. I had underestimated how big my boob would swell after surgery, the haematoma and seroma didn't help Ideas

Why has my husband been given Candesartan when he hasn’t got high blood pressure . It must be for his stage 2 heart failure I presume .
My husband has been given this drug along with digoxin to add to his other meds , bisoprol , antorvaststin , Lansoprazole, edoxoban and dapagliflozin. He ll be rattling soon . He has been relatively stable . The ecg showed heart rate of 100 so I presume the cardiologist wants to lower it further . Is

metoprolol 25 mg and low heat rate
hi, in a situation where there is a low heart rate between 55 to 60 bpm when in afib, does it make sense to take metaprolol drug, designed to reduce the ventricular heart rate, amongst other things? my allopathic md prescribed this and i cannot help but feel a bit uncomfortable. i don't wish the heart

post open heart surgery
I had my third open heart surgery two weeks ago. I have noticed positive change to my health already but I have also noticed lack of interest and concentration. I have brain fog, forgetting to do things or hold a conversation for a significant period of time. Has anyone else experienced this?

ECG Wristwatch Option
I've been reading various posts about the utility of the Apple Watch heart monitor. I wanted to offer an option for those folk who don't live in the Apple ecosystem. I live in the Samsung ecosystem and have been wearing a Galaxy 4 & now 5 watch since I was Dx and successfully treated for Afib / SVT.

Disappointment after Ablation Number 4
I had my 4th ablation just two weeks ago and since then, have enjoyed two weeks of blissful NSR and a wonderfully steady heart rate of between 50 and 60 bpm. I was feeling a bit lightheaded, breathless and dizzy so my EP advised me to reduce my Bisoprolol dosage from 5mg twice a day to 3.75mg in the

Yoga after heart surgery
Hi All , good to be here in every sense. I had a surprise heart issue over a few days culminating in mitra valve repair 5 weeks ago via sternotomy. Discharged after 5 days on bisoprolol and warfarin both hopefully temporary. Follow up in two weeks I was a very active (59 year old) yoga teacher before
