Cytarabine

Soon after Christmas, it will be my 3rd cycle of chemotherapy, it is my very first time having High dose Cytarabine, however at the first and second cycle I already had some chemo rashes and irritation on my face and my eye.

The remission-inducing arm consisted of cytarabine (3 g/m2 for younger patients or 1 g/m2 for patients over age 60) twice daily on days 1-3 plus 10 mitoxantrone mg/m2 on days 3-5 and subsequent alloHCT.

My baby Elizabeth was having all sorts of issues blood clotting, blood pressure, breathing, liver swollen and brain bleeding, finally on day 2 and blood test she was diagnosed with acute leukemia because of her white cell count being out of control we have started treatment with Cytarabine she has responded

- Induction chemotherapy with cytarabine and daunorubicin. - Initially, non-itchy skin lesion on left forearm. Later, lesions developed on the neck and venipuncture sites (site of a vein where blood is taken). The latter was pathergy - skin lesions develop where the skin has been damaged.

I was treated with two rounds of high-dose cytarabine infused into my cerebrospinal fluid via a spinal tap (sounds horrible but it was by far the easiest chemo I've ever had). The seizures soon stopped and my vision began to improve. I was also started on high-dose ibrutinib.

My CLL specialist teamed with other specialists to create a customized treatment regime -- cytarabine (a brain cancer chemo) infused into my spinal column plus good old fashioned ibrutinib.

I was also treated with high-dose cytarabine, a more traditional chemo infused directly into the spinal fluid for direct delivery to the brain etc. My seizures are treated with Keppra, an anti-epiliptic drug.

During the same spinal tap, I'll get an infusion of cytarabine directly into the spinal fluid. Then everyone will take stock and we'll take it from there. My question: Does anyone have experience with cytarabine (trade name Cytosar)?

The treatment plan was Hyper-CVAD alternating with High dose Methotrexate plus cytarabine with Rituxamab also. This was for 8 treatments total alternating courses. It required me to have inpatient chemo every month so I was in the hospital from 10 - 14 days each month.
