Mucuna Purens as a source of dopamine
I am seriously contemplating mucuna purens for my P D--==PROBABLY CONTRARY TO MY NEURO'S ADVICE. Has anyone used M P successfully and at what doses.? Now I take sinemet , azilect, and comtan. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions or warnings, etc.

Pomegranate Juice
I copied the following from the MedlinePlus website. Sorry for the long post but I thought some might find it interesting that one juice can impact so many things. How can anyone know what drugs or supplements really do to each of us since we are all physically different, eat differently, etc.? I

Have you, or has someone you know, had a lung transplant?
Hello, I’ve been contacted by the NHS Blood and Transplant service with a request for help. They are exploring ways of helping people to make decisions about the risks associated with organ transplants. They would like to get the views of as many people as possible. This includes people who may need

Trouble with Sinemet dosing
Diagnosed with tremor intensive PD 2001. Started Sinemet end 2012, 3x100mg /d as I was getting weaker. I sailed along OK for about one year, then suddenly one to two hours after taking a dose I would go into almost a convulsion like state with intense tremor and weakness. I learned that I was not allergic

gout in foot
Hello, I was diagnosed PD about 8 years ago, currently on carbidopa/levadopa and comtan. Tried all the other medications to no avail for various reasons. Currently developed gout in my foot. Anyone else experienced this? Don't know if it's related to PD or meds or???

18 months on - fear of dying young
It's been almost 18 months since I was critically ill and physically I have recovered amazing well. I do everything I used to and can look after my young family. My cardiac function was mildly impaired, my kidneys haven't quite got back to normal and I have a lot of scarring but I am managing just fine

Comtan / entacapone cost
Comtan (generic:entacapone) really works for me in extending my on-times for carbidopa-levadopa to the point where I am almost symptom free some days. However, I have been paying $300-$400 for it per month because my insurance, and I've been told, most insurance didn't cover it. Well, IT DOES NOW and

It's my health, my body...why is it that my opinion does not count? I am angry, frustrated and feeling helpless!
I was diagnoised just over 10 years ago and fought taking any meds for some time, untl my ablility to function was greatly impaired, which in turn greatly affected my mental state. I am currently taking Ropinirole, (0.5MG, 1 tab-4x dly) Carb/Levo, (25-100MG, 1 tab-4x dly) Entacapone, a generic of Comtan

What causes the involuntary movements or dyskinesia, is it the pd or pd meds?
If it's the meds, which ones are most likely to cause these symptoms? I take 0.5mg of Ropinirole 4x dly., 100mg of Carb/Levo 4x dly., 100mg of Buprop 2x dly. (which I believe is the generic form of Wellbutrin) and 100mg of Comtan 2x dly.. However my Comtan was recently changed to a generic form by the

Complications After Kidney Transplant
After kidney transplant, the patient is very prone to infection. Three contributive factors are as following. After over ten years only cardopa- leva dopa in extended release plus short acting doses are doing some good. Any good ideas for rigidity?
Comtan, amantadine, mirapex, azilect psych/ side effects now terrifying. Lower body rigiidity is challenging mobility without a wheelchair.

GABAPENTIN for nerve pain?
Was debilitated with sciatica pain and my general practitioner (after careful consideration, research for interaction, and discussion) carefully prescribed gabapentin 300 mg once a day. My PD meds are carbidopa/levodopa, comtan and mirapex. (Mirapex was the possible interaction). Within two hours of
