Hi all, new to this vile condition
Just a little background, I have various conditions, who said getting older was time for enjoyment! So just to quickly narrow it down, I have asthma, under active thyroid, high blood pressure, Afib plus Mitral Valve regurgitation and during the past year diagnosed as needing a full hip replacement

Blood pressure medication
My doctor has changed my BP medication from Amlodipine to Candesartan because it caused serious problems with my gums. The problem is one of the possible side effects with Candesartan is dizziness which I have a phobia of. She has only put me on a low dose 4mg but I am afraid to take them. Has anyone

Arrhythmias: Understanding your condition
Arrhythmias are heart rhythm disorders of your heart’s electrical system, whereby there is a change in the regular beat of your heart, causing it to beat irregularly. Sometimes if the conduction pathway is damaged or becomes blocked, or if an extra pathway exists, the heart’s rhythm changes. For more

GP cholesterol results.
Hi folks, So I have just had my cholesterol test done by my GP with the following results. HDL - 1.5 LDL - 6.8 TRIGLYCERIDES - 1.7 Total 8.3 risk factor 26% They want to start me on Statins asap. I am keen to avoid drugs and believe that some of the increased numbers above could actually be good

PAF. What should my goal be?
My aim is to reduce my AFib frequency which is currently about 3 episodes per month. In August I had episodes on the 3rd, the 14th and the 26th. The duration was respectively 18, 16 and 18 hours. The intensity of the palpitations was mild for the first few hours and for the last few hours I was unaware

Portable Inogen tubing tip
A few months ago I finally got a portable Inogen Oxygen unit and kept finding the tubing kinked where it comes out of the unit (impeding oxygen flow.) I finally found this little doodad on Amazon which clips to the tubing and shapes it into a curve, preventing it from kinking. I don’t know if I can post

KardiaMobile vs Fitbit watch
I use both for checking my heart rate and checking for Afib, and my cardio consultant endorsed the Kardio monitor. He was though rather sceptical about Fitbit watch saying it was very limited. I wondered what experiences others had about these devices. I also had a question about heart rate versus

breathless after cardio version
hi I had a afib attack 3 weeks ago and was admitted for cardio version. 2 days after I felt worse, heart rate was normal but experienced numbness on left side, dizzy and nausea. Was admitted to the icu for surveillance as they thought I had a stroke. Luckily it wasn’t but the neurologist said sometimes

Tamoxifen side effects
I have a question for tamoxifen users. Not a big deal but I am curious. I am 76 and have been on tamoxifen for a year and a half. I have gray hair - quite long. The hair is thinning but my curiosity is about my hair darkening. It is turning a dark brunette. Just seems kind of weird. Anyone else had that

Continued Cardioäblation Success
I'd hoped to climb 11,500 ft/3,500 m Mt San Gorgonio that's 11 miles/18 km away from the Camp I work at as a prepcook on the second anniversary of my cardioäblation but my work schedule wouldn't allow that. I'd summitted it three times over the previous two years but I'd always driven to the trailhead
