A few months ago I finally got a portable Inogen Oxygen unit and kept finding the tubing kinked where it comes out of the unit (impeding oxygen flow.) I finally found this little doodad on Amazon which clips to the tubing and shapes it into a curve, preventing it from kinking. I don’t know if I can post links here, so just do a search for this description: Holder for Oxygen Hose,Tubing Strain Reliefs,Tubing Supports for Oxygen Hose (Two cost me $10 US.)
Anyway, just thought I’d share in case anyone else has this pesky problem. At first I was going to try to fashion something out of Duct tape lol but then I came across this.

NHgardener, I am still contemplating about getting the Inogen so this tip is very helpful. Thank you for sharing. My doctor feels I need to be on continuous flow instead of pulse, but the odds might be better since he took me from 5 liters to 3 this month. Feeling blessed. - - It might be a while before he lets me test the Inogen.
Tubing Supports for Oxygen Hose Used to Keep your Oxygen Tubing from Kinking. · Easy to Install. · This simple, yet highly effective, device works extremely well ...
Thanks for the tip. I had a similar problem, especially in warm weather. It was resolved by using a short (2 inch long) stiffer plastic tube which fitted around the Imogen tube, having slit it along its length, then taping around. It works well but yours looks to be more elegant!
Old problem and hard to cure. We fit rotating connectors at each end of the tube which helps and there is a new tubing (green and white instead of clear) which seems to work better.
This shows my connection. From the left: O2 tube (2 metres); Connecting trumpet; white double ended swivel; trumpet in reverse; large white fire trap connector; end of new green striped hose (6 metres) and connected by same set up to O2 concentrator.
Long tube is protected by fire traps at both ends, although the concentrator has internal fire protection as well.
Disconnect the cannula from the machine, feed it through the metal loop that the strap is attached to, and reconnect it. This keeps it straight and prevents kinks.
Hi, I have the same problem with my machine too, also I get blasts of oxygen like it's sighing at me 😂 it does this a couple of times, then stops. I am going to change my tube, and order more, I will tell them about it when I order. Seems like a common thing 🤔.
