Hi , I have persistent AF, mitral value regurgitation and cardiomyopathy and for some months have been suffered with constant sweats. My medication is Nebivolol, Dejoxin, Edoxaban, Rosuvastatin and water tablets. Having had all manner of test no explanation can be offered for this. Has anyone else experienced the same heavy persistent sweats? Many thanks in advance

Hi

Sweating uncontrollably before Stroke. Diagnosed with Stroke Embolic, Rapid & Persistent AF (controlled with Ditiazem 120mg AM and BP Bisoprolol 2.5mg PM. But 4 days later shadow on my Thyroid - Papillary Cancer. It was Thyroid cancer which caused the AF which caused the Stroke.

Please have your Thyroid looked at. Not tests. Have a Carotid Arteries Test too which I was being tested when the scanner saw it.

I’m a 73 year old female. I randomly get varying degrees of sweatiness. Sometimes it’s just a face flush, sometimes mild sweating around the torso and sometime I wake up drenched. There is no regularity to it and they can be months or days apart, and as I say, varying in severity. It almost always happens during the night. I have read that Afib can cause sweating. I think I was worse before being diagnosed but that would indicate I had Afib long before diagnosis. I have also read that even many years after menopause, women can still be plagued by the sweats. No blood test has ever shown up anything untoward. If you mention it to your GP, they should do a blood test to rule out any other possibilities.

Yes unfortunately this happens my wife who went through menopause 15 years ago still gets really bad Hot flushes - again usually at night. Its seems that many people do not know that these awful things do not always stop for many women but go on for life - as they did for my Mum.

l think you have some good advice. I have sweats and have done since menopause. I have noticed that if l eat anything sweet with sugar it can trigger a sweat. Cut the sugar down if you haven’t already as it may help.

I can drink coffee normally without a problem but once in a while, it’s almost like a hot flash. None of my doctors said I had to stop my cup of coffee in the morning. It’s all I have just one.

I am glad you wrote this. I was just recently put on the statin you mentioned. I do not perspire not even when we hit 110 which is common here. In the past month or so I have noticed even in the house in the air conditioning getting clammy and sweaty, especially my arms and neck. My neck feels like it’s burning up sometimes. I was changed to this because I had been asking if there was anything in a statin that could cause less joint pain and this is a highly regarded one for women because of how it works in our body.

have you put any weight on taking that I had dropped about 40 pounds I was feeling fantastic now in the last month I don’t even have to get on the scale to know I have gained weight and I feel puffy not bloated but it feels lousy. I also have another medication. I am being weaned off of for the past three months with the dose cut in half it is an anti-depressant.

Have you been on your statin very long? None of my three doctors will consider letting me stop statins all together. You are the first person I’ve come across taking this one.

The sweating I am having reminds me of how I felt before hit the floor and found out. I had a fib and a typical flutter among other things. as I said, I don’t perspire which actually is dangerous for me because I overheat without realizing so I have been really surprised this past month with what my body has been doing. Thank you for writing. I’m sorry I don’t have any answers for you but it’s good to come across someone the same thing and possibly a side effect the same way
