Reassurance post-ablation sought!
Hi, new to the forum & posting, am seeking reassurance from all you experienced people! I had a cardiac ablation for paroxysmal AF 3 days ago - the procedure lasted over 4 hours, & I am wiped out. I’m sleeping loads, a bit sob as it’s a bit sore to take a deep breath, and my stomach hurts when I eat

Total or partial thyroidectomy, a good reason to monitor bone density?
Reuter health article, research is flawed as its a retrospective study but one good point made is that current recommendations do not include monitoring bone density which seems to be a fairly obvious requirement in Thyroidectomy - for thyroid cancer at least. Vitamin D and calcium levels ought be checked

Widespread Fraud in the Generic Drug Industry
"Generics are supposed to be this great leveler. It's like the democratization of drugs that the rich and the poor alike can have access to for these great cures. To find out...that the companies cashing in on that image are really selling that short in a very devious way, is painful to realize. It's

Hello, I'm new to the community and I'm here to learn and share. I have a question. I had a cardiac ablation for atrial flutter in June this year (2019) and 3 months later I'm still having days where I cannot stop yawning and feel tired. Has anyone experienced the same? Is this normal? Any advice is

Am I Hypothyroid ?
I wonder if anyone can help me ?28 years ago I had a partial thyroidectomy due to multi modular goitre. The Drs weren’t going to do anything as all my bloods were normal, but an ultrasound picked up the problem. Over the years I’ve been referred to endocrinologists because of various problems, but each

Post Cardiac Ablation
Can someone advise me please. I had a cardiac ablation around 7 years ago which was successful. However now I have an odd heart rate, sometimes is 40 beats a minute during the day and sometimes up to 180. My GP has put me on Losartan for Hypertension which has made me feel awful and gain weight. Surely

Feeling worse after partial thyroidectomy
I finally had the right side of my thyroid removed 10 days ago after an indeterminate FNB on a large nodule. The surgery went well and I was home after one night in hospital but in the last week I have been feeling gradually worse with a terrible sick tiredness, strange hot flushes and insomnia. I also

Travel Insurance - What a palaver!
In late 2016 I was diagnosed with slightly elevated blood pressure during a routine health check. In summer 2017 I went to my GP after realising that I was becoming breathless with mild exertion and, to cut a long story short, I was diagnosed with heart failure and started on a range of medications ‘

Natural dessicated thyroid (NDT) or alternative to Levo without prescription please
Hi all. I'm new here and this is my first ever post. I have been on Levo since 1999 after a partial thyroidectomy. I have not felt right since then but as my blood tests always come back within range nothing changes. I am currently on 150mcg and am toying with buying the Medicheck Thyroid Check UltraVit
