AFIB - 32Yr Old
After diagnosis they started me on an IV of a medicine to get my heart rate to normalize or else they would have to do a
cardioversion
the next morning. About 4-6 hours after starting that IV drip my pulse normalized.

1 week later...
Ended up needing to have Amiodrone IV again, as last summer, over 24 hours and if that doesn't reduce it I'll need a DC
cardioversion
. I'm gutted it's happened again with absolutely no warning, only a week after my EP was optimistic and happy enough to only want to see me in 6 months time.

When you don’t know you are in af
I’ve been in af for several years on and off and apart from following cardioversions when I felt great I feel the same. Rubbish in the mornings breathless and tired slight improvement durinfpg the day. I’m just wondering whether it’s my meds I take at7 am which are causing it? 25 mg beta blockers for

Three years and two months free of AF after my
cardioversion
.....and bang....I woke up last Sunday with my ticker dancing a very fast version of the light fantastic! Off to A&E and fast tracked through a packed waiting area to be looked after with amazingly close and interested attention.

Skiing after cardioversion
After discussing the AF with a cardiologist we have agreed on
cardioversion
as the 1st step to try to restore NSR - this is taking place on 3rd March I heard this morning.

Conversion to NSR
Electro
cardioversion
was planned, but I refused since I was not quite sure if this was for the first time at all. I didn't want to take a risk of stroke and I wanted to start AC and discuss it with my cardiologist prior.

Pacemaker
I have had 5 cardioversions and 3 ablations in the last 12 years. None of them worked. Now my EP is suggesting a pacemaker to control upper and lower HR. Has anyone had any success with the pacemaker? Thank you! Bill

Progress or not - not
Since my last post I’ve been to the pacemaker clinic for a scheduled follow-up after my unsuccessful
Cardioversion
, not quite unsuccessful, I had 4-days of bliss in normal sinus rhythm.

Flying long haul after episode of Atrial flutter the previous day
The flutter was brought under control without the need for a
cardioversion
and she was discharged within 5-6 hrs with a fit to fly note from the doctor who was aware that we were due to fly long haul.

Progress or not!
The hospital admitted me overnight and administered Bisoprolol and Digoxin and arranged for a
Cardioversion
which was carried out 5-days ago. For all those out there wondering, it was straightforward and painless but more importantly successful albeit for only 4-days plus.
