Night fears
After having a fairly uneventful 3 weeks since my last
cardioversion
I have continued to be frightened to go to bed as it was at night when my last episode of AF started. Last night I woke at around 3:00 after experiencing a vivid horrific nightmare.

Cardioversion update and possibly the way forward
After the disappointment following my
cardioversion
that lasted just 11hrs I have spoken to the doctors arrhythmia team and there is a suggestion that another
cardioversion
will be offered and the drug Amiodarone will be used to help prevent slipping back in AF.

Getting back to a high level of activity after cardioversion.
Cardioversion
6 weeks later and back to normal!! So overjoyed immediately took myself off bisoprolol and warfarin and it flipped back again after 7 days. Ate humble pie and had another
cardioversion
3 weeks ago and am on 100mg Flecanaid twice a day plus Apixaban which I probably don't need.

Can a cardioversion work for persistent AF?
I had been expecting him to suggest a
cardioversion
but was taken aback when he said that as I was in AF all of the time a
cardioversion
would not work and if it did my heart would almost certainly flip back into AF almost immediately.

Due a cardioversion
My husband has now been to see the cardiologist and they are going to do a
cardioversion
. Then to top it all yesterday he was diagnosed with having advanced prostate cancer. Will they still go ahead with the
cardioversion
? Anyone else been in a simular situation.

Arrythmia
I had a
cardioversion
on 13th January and have been on Amiodorone since just before that, my heart is now beating normally but when I cam home I was terribly breathless, saw my Dr and she took me off Bisoprol 1.5 mg and within a few days I was breathing normally again but still on Amiodorone.

Will it work!
I am due a
cardioversion
tomorrow in Liverpool. Hoping it will convert me into NSR. To be honest if it doesn't I am just hoping it won't leave me worse off than I am now. Luckily I am pretty well symptom free. I understand it will help to identify the way forward for future treatment (if any).

Had my first
Cardioversion
on Friday but it failed so I have been prescribed amiodarone hydrochloride to add to my daily cocktail. Has anyone else has experience of this drug as I am struggling big time with side effects?

One day after cardioversion
I got very lucky because my cardiologist (new to the department at my hospital) told me that she wanted me to have a
cardioversion
at the end of January. I managed to hold them to this and had a
cardioversion
yesterday offered at short notice when there was a cancellation.

1st DC Cardioversion
Hello everyone, EP has just asked my GP to arrange for me to have a DC
Cardioversion
- my first ever op, even though I'm 76. I'm very apprehensive and would appreciate some advice on whether I should prepare in any way beforehand, what to expect when having the op and what to do afterwards.

Enlarged atrium and AF
I am very down as I feel as if there is nowhere to go as have been told that
cardioversion
/ablation is unlikely to work because of the enlarged heart. Is there any else on the forum in a similar situation.

Second ablation in March 2016, and apart from one morning of irregular HR which was sorted with
cardioversion
the same day, things have been going well since. Currently exercising and feeling ok! Nice to meet you!

Shoulder and neck pain
I was diagnosed with AF in September and have had two hospital stays, a
cardioversion
and am taking a cocktail of drugs, including bisoprolol I have never been really conscious of palpitations but I was admitted to hospital because of tachycardia and pain in my shoulder and neck.

Flecainide didn't fail after 8 months...
I was still a bit dizzy after
cardioversion
to ask EP right questions. Hopefully Bob and others with similar experience can probably shed more light on this. Thank you all.

Post Perfusion Syndrome (Pumphead)
I had Atrial fibrillation until November 2016 when I had a
cardioversion
which put me back into sinus rhythm, which I am still in. I have had various recent checks on my heart, an ECHO (Echocardiogram) and two 24 hour tapes.

in A-F after 20 days from Catheter Ablation
I had
cardioversion
and back to NSR. Is that because my Ablation was not successful. No medication after Ablation, just Xeralto 20mg daily Can any one reply on this please.

Warfarin v Apixaban
I now need to decide whether to take warfarin or Apixaban ahead of another
cardioversion
, and maybe ablation further down track. I know warfarin's stood the test of time but I'm tempted by a NOAC this time.
