My husband has now been to see the cardiologist and they are going to do a cardioversion. Then to top it all yesterday he was diagnosed with having advanced prostate cancer. Will they still go ahead with the cardioversion? Anyone else been in a simular situation.

Due a cardioversion
Hi not a great time for you! I can't see why the cardioversion wouldn't go ahead. I wish you both well
Hi Fifi.....sorry to hear that things are difficult for you both......I'm no medic, but I would have thought they will carry on. Best wishes to you and hubby.......John
Sorry to hear your news.
Dont give up.
Im sure the cardioversion will be ok.
Chin up.
My own hubby has his second chemo today for cancer.
Thinking of you both.
Just to wish you and your husband all the best. One day at a time.
Just wanted to send my best wishes. I can see no reason why the cardioversion should not go ahead. You need time to process all the information you have been given. The treatments to control advanced prostate cancer are very effective and can have a positive effect on quality of life. One thing I would say is to try not to get hung up about PSA blood tests which doctors use to track progress. They are very useful for the doctors in planning treatment but are of little help to you as they are not a predictor of how well or otherwise your husband will feeling. Like AF, prostate cancer is "mongrel" condition affecting some people very little and others more. Once the shock settles a bit you can seek out info to help on your journey. Kind regards Wendyb
I had a cardioversion just after Christmas, I was only in hospital for a few hrs. I walked in and out in 4 hrs. So that is nothing to worry about. But good luck with the rest of hubbys treatment. Mine has just got the all clear from his bowel cancer. The NHS is marvellous. OK you have to wait, but treatment is second to non. x
Hi Fifi. You seem to be having as good a start to 2017 as me. I won't burden you with my post Ablation hiccups.
There is no reason whatsoever not to go ahead with the cardio version. Get this out of the way first and then deal with the Prostate problem.
My husband has prostate cancer, diagnosed as an aggressive form of the disease 12 years ago. He has had a prostatectomy and radiotherapy but is still on hormone treatment. He is and has been very positive, plays golf, gardens and walks for miles and considers himself lucky. He even amazes me with his outlook.
My advise is to deal with the here and now and take each day as it comes.
I wish you both well.
Hope that everything goes well for you both! Stay strong, and just be there for each other! Big hugs and my thoughts are with you both!
