Apixaban, any adverse affects from taking it?
I was diagnosed with persistant AF back in May 2017 and had a
cardioversion
29th Sept. which was successful, although according to my last ecg and echo this week, I still have the odd skipped beat but the heart chamber is back to near normal.

Six months post ablation
Recovery is a very long process and for me the ablation didn't go well and the following week I was back in hospital for a
cardioversion
which didn't go well and I ended up on amiodarone to put my heart back into NSR.

Permanent afib
Hi.....i'm new so maybe i've missed it, but I don't see posts about permanent AF, as distinguished from paroxysmal and persistent. I started with the latter but after two years and two cardioversions the afib has been permanent...... I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a similiar situation.

On the list for an ICD
I had an an episode of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in December 2016 which was sorted with
Cardioversion
. Following an MRI Scan my consultant has put me on the waiting list for an ICD. I've found the posts and questions really useful on here. :-)

Back in AF 4 days after Cardioversion Any advice?
I had a
cardioversion
last saturday which was successful at the first attempt. I was discharged from hospital with a HR of 52 so they reduced my Bisoprolol to 5mg.

I'm new here.....
I've never partipated in an online forum so i'll have to figure it out...anyway, my story is this: I had a terrifying afib episode about 8 years ago that landed me in the ER......i've had two cardioversions that were successful but temporary and finally I ended up with persistent afib and a lifetime

Back in sinus rhythm!
Hiya I took my dad today for his
cardioversion
but last couple of days he has started to feel better. His pulse is 76 beats per minute and back in sinus rhythm! Can’t believe how it can just go back in to rhythm all of a sudden!

Update
Hubby is now on Anticoagulants and on the waiting list for
Cardioversion
, the appointment should be anytime now.....Here's hoping anyway. He has gone back to work, so a good result all round so far, it seems normal service has resumed.

Cardioversion
EP has suggested
cardioversion
in hospital and I admit I'm scared. Has anyone had this done? Many thanks.

Hi Sam72
I had the first
cardioversion
1 week after the ablation and the second
cardioversion
1 week after that. My afib starts and won't stop.
Cardioversion
works well for me. Even for a short time.

Tachycardia following Afib Ablation
* After 6 weeks weeks or so of waiting I had DC
Cardioversion
and maintained NSR for 8 weeks. * My heart then flipped again only this time I had Tachycardia not Afib. For me the symptons associated with Tachycardia are much harder to live with than Afib.

Cardioversion
I had a
cardioversion
this morning (the nurse sang happy birthday to me, 71 today) at the moment I don't feel any better, I know it's very early days, but is this normal. Diagnosed with persistent AF in may this year

Apixaban
Having said that, I have been more or less the same on other drugs, which were stopped last week after my first
cardioversion
. I have persistent AF, which is now okay after treatment

Thyroid problems
I have been on Amiodarone since March following
cardioversion
. My blood tests have shown up problems with my thyroid kidneys and liver and there is blood in my urine. My appointment with the Cardiologist is scheduled for April 2018 although my GP is going to see if he can get me in sooner.

AliveCor
Having been in NSR for nearly two years after
cardioversion
and ablation... I jumped back into 24/7 arrythmia last week. I charged up my old iPhone 4 with the AliveCor monitor on it to take readings for my cardio dept and it tells me it can't log onto my account.

Had Cryoablation on Monday
The good news is that
cardioversion
was performed and my heartbeat is regular. However, this probably will not last. The nurses and staff at the hospital were lovely. To try and prevent a fistula a PPI (lansoprazole) has been prescribed, it was given to me on a full stomach.
