Ablation stopping AF can allow the left atrium to reduce in size. In fact drugs or DCCV (cardioversion) which control the fibrillation can also have this effect . How much and how quickly is difficult to say.
After my two heart attacks I was told that hearts don't repair themselves, yet in a recent MRI they couldn't find the scars left from them. So I think hearts do regenerate themselves over time, though it's a very long term process unlike a cut finger or whatever. Key to any recovery is keeping yourself fit and active so do that and hopefully you won't need to read these pages for much longer
Thanks mike 11 for for your reply😃
