14 Months Success Story (so far).
I had 5 AF events starting in my late 40's that all required
cardioversion
to get back into sinus rhythm. In March 2019 I decided to try an ablation procedure. I picked an excellent surgeon cardiologist who does about 5-8 ablation procedures per week.

Flecainide
My
cardioversion
was cancelled some months ago and I am awaiting new rescheduled appointment/ I was told to take flecainide 100 twice a day three days before procedure and then several months after/ I have read that it is usual to be monitored when first taking flecainide for possible side effects- but

Not in 24/7 Afib anymore
One failed
cardioversion
. However, this morning I've woken up and actually feel well, really well, when I usually feel pretty rough day in day out. Checked on bp monitor and no afib. Wow.

New news I didn’t know yesterday- Cancer causes blood clots
One I’ve been on XARELTO 20mg since Feb 14th Valentines days
Cardioversion
failed attempt. I do not like being on a “Blood Thinner” for My dreaded AFIB. Oh but I’m in NSR since Ablation heart procedure last Wed. Yes, good news, great news!

Insurance advice
Hi all, I had a
cardioversion
in September 2019 and an ablation in January this year. My motorhome insurance is up for renewal and I'm wondering if I need to tell the insurance company about these health issues. Any advice, thanks?

Cardiologist recommendation
The cardiologist recommended an ablation but he could get a
cardioversion
before that once they are being done again. He is an extremely fit 32 year old who exercises regularly and being in flutter and on meds is a huge shock. He’s always been converted before.

Frequency of episodes before permanent AF occurred
Also , how did you get out of the PAF episodes ( self
cardioversion
/ wait it out / hospital cardio version ). Previously before starting on flecanide 3+ weeks ago I was having episodes every 3-4-5-7 days I felt I was closing in on a permanent state.

A-fib, but only in the head
A bit of context: I have had 7 cardioversions and 2 ablations, the most recent ablation was in October 2019. So I have been in and out of afib a few times and my experience of afib after my first ablation was very different to before. So recently I felt a-fib like symptoms when I was exercising - this

Ectopic Heart Beats
They told me that unless it becomes persistent they are not harmful and after all I have been through (I also had AF after the MI which was rectified with
cardioversion
) they are perhaps my new normal. Thanks

AV Node ablation & CRT Pacemaker
Hi I'm another newbie. I had a heart attack 20 years ago at the age of 55. It left me with atrial fibrillation and over the years I have been treated with medication, 2 pulmonary vein isolation ablations and 7 cardioversions. I don't seem to have many options left to me know and I have recently been

Life with AF
Hi all. I’ve had 33 cardioversions and two ablations, none of which have lasted. Supposed to have had laser treatment outside the heart thru the chest this year but Covid has delayed. Flipping AF! I can say losing nearly two stone has helped with my Rhythm so there’s still hope. The good news is I

Looking for advice re getting an ablation now
In this case, it extended for a couple of days, and I underwent a
cardioversion
with my electrocardiologist and it worked fine. I was then prescribed Flecainide (50mg/2x a day) and it worked very well.

Cardioversion
I am going for a
Cardioversion
in 6 weeks for my Persistent Afib, so am on Eliquis in preparation to accompany my (delightful!) Bisoprolol. How successful is the procedure? Any poll anywhere?

12 Months Post Ablation
The last year wasn't all roses with a hospital trip in July 19 in lanzarote admitted with flutter, reverted by
cardioversion
, a bad experience, but thankfully this hasn't reoccurred since fingers crossed and Dr Murray when seen in Aug said it May have been post op inflammation, or just a blip in my recovery
