Hi All
Been a while since I posted.
It’s been 9 months since I had a double bypass which followed an MI. I have been pretty vigilant with meds, exercise and diet. Even got an e bike a few months back and have clocked up a lot of miles! Highly recommend one as it takes the pain out of steep hills and allows you to go further for longer.
In the last 10 days I have been feeling pretty rough with chest discomfort, really high sensitivity with my incision/scar and generally not well in myself. Got quite bad on Sunday so went into hospital (which I had hoped to avoid given Covid). They monitored me over 12 hours and after 3 ECGs and 3 blood tests (Tropinin level was <10 each time) told me that whatever was giving me grief was not cardiac related and is mostly about the recovery of the chest wall/nerves reconnecting. However, they did determin that I have ectopic heart beats. That started to make sense as I often get a winded/sunken feeling in the chest which can be quite alarming which only really started a few weeks back.
Has anyone had a similar experience and how have you dealt with it? They told me that unless it becomes persistent they are not harmful and after all I have been through (I also had AF after the MI which was rectified with cardioversion) they are perhaps my new normal.
Thanks
