Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March
Diagnosed with oc in march 2011 and told possibility of tumours in the liver. Had chemo carboplatin and taxol, six sessions. Went to see oncologist today who confirmed that the tumours in the liver had shrunk and were dormant. Told that i would probably need more treatment in future for oc as it would

Would like to hear experiences of anyone who has had multiple chemo's over a number of years. Am on 3rd line chemo..
I've had the full surgery. Chemo worked well with first two courses, this one is on track also to get me into remission for the third time - each time CA in single figures by the end of the course. Apart from second line taxol problems, few side effects so very lucky. But as the pattern of chemo/remission

Caelyx followed by Carboplatin and Taxol
I've been advised that I could have Caelyx followed by Carboplatin and Taxol further down the line. Wondered if anyone had gone down this route and if what the advantages and disadvantages were.

Since Dose 2 of Taxol & Carboplatin, I get the most awful pain in my back - acid reflux I'm assuming which seems to last for 2/3 days.
This reflux pain is worse than any I have had before and it is so disabling around 5/6 days post-chemo. I already take Omeprazole daily and have started taking Ranitidine in addition, which helps very slightly. Any advise please?

Hi can anyone give me their experiances of Caelyx chemo. I have had Carboplatin and Taxol twice since being diagnosed in 2008
However since finishing my last chemo in December 2010 I have new symptoms now and have been advised that Caelyx would be the next chemo suitable for me. I have decided that I still have to fight on and feel more positive now that last week after the visit to the oncologist. Some insight into Caelyx

Mum (71) started her 1st Taxol treatment last Friday for re-occurrence, she was fine up until yesterday then started getting stomach pains, legs feeling like heavy weights, nausea. I have just spoken to her and she has been up all night vomiting every hour. She cannot keep anything down even water.

Maintenance once in remission
My mum was diagnosed in Nov 2010 with stage 3c and has since undergone chemo (weekly taxol with carboplatin every third week), surgery and now more chemo before hopefully getting into remission. Fingers crossed!!! What an awful time this has been as I'm sure you are all so very aware of. I have just

Hope even when diagnosed stage 4
I was diagnosed with stage 4 with lung spread following an episode of pleural effusion 4 years and a Ca125 of over 6000. To cut a long story short I was given a terminal diagnosis with palliative care only. Lucky for me I saw a wonderful oncologist who commenced taxol and carboplatin chemo. I responded

I'm 4 years down the line and half way through my 5th line chemo of weekly taxol. Yesterday I had the results of my half way ct scan and it showed a good response. I HOPE that it gives others in a similar position to me HOPE too.

Is it likely that taking aspirin may help families with BRCA2 gene mutation?
Hi All, I have been watching the news and see that taking aspirin is likely to help people with a history of bowel cancer. I had breast cancer at the age of 32 and ovarian cancer at the age of 52. It is Stage 3C. I responded well to taxol and carboplatin but had a relapse in March and thankfully

Horrible day today!
I was diagnosed with OC Stage 1 (grade 3 cells) last September. Following a full hysterectomy I had 6 sessions of carboplatin and taxol to blast a few 'floating' cells. I went into remission at the end of February this year with a CA125 of 7 and a clear CT scan. However, after experiencing some pain

six-month post chemo CA125 result. And Avastin. Is it available in the UK?
I keep an eye on this site on behalf of a very dear friend, diagnosed stage 3c last August. She and I find your questions and answers a constant source of support; I hope nobody minds me asking something on her behalf. She is about to get her latest CA125 result, post radical hysterectomy and 6 months

Mums Reaction to Taxol, now been given Caelyx
Mum (71) had a severe reaction to Taxol last Friday on her 2nd treatment, saw the oncologist today and they have said no more Taxol. So this afternoon she had a course of Caelyx given over 2.5 hours, slower than normal to be on the safe side. Mum seemed to be okay, just hoping this will work for her

How quickly should tumour show visible signs of shrinking?
A bit about my mums treatment: She was that the plan would be 6 rounds of
taxol
/
carbo
followed by (hopefully) surgery then 2 more rounds of carbo. Before she was diagnosed she had complained of pain in her right lower side (stomach) for over a year.
