Low Platelet, WBC, Lymphocyte etc
Good morning, I was wondering whether it is normal for those of us with UAT/Hashimotos to have low counts on these things? Whenever I get a full test done they come back slightly low or borderline. These are the ones I'm generally low or borderline on (since around 2012) : Lymphocyte count - last

I have osteoporosis and I took Fosamax for a while and then lost 6 teeth! I stopped taking it a while ago, but my back is giving me grief now. I am taking calcium and Vitamin D, but I need to find out whether there are any alternatives to alendronic acid.

New to the group
I have been taking prednisolone for PMR for nearly 4 weeks and have my first review this week - I'm feeling fab since starting on pred - not taking any supplements yet - should I be asking about calcium and vitamin D at my review appointment?

Beta Blockers vs. Calcium Channel Blockers - Which causes weight gain?
I have been on the beta blocker Carvedilol for several years now because of high blood pressure and to help control my ectopic heartbeats (Premature Atrial Contractions), and it seems I have a difficult time keeping my weight down. I'm not sure if it could be related to the Carvedilol. I'm considering

Need help finding Diet App for tracking dietary intake
Hi. I have been monitoring my intake but no formal or efficient way to track daily intake: protein, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, sugar, fat, calories, etc.I also track water intake, which is much easier. I've been writing down what I eat, but this is so time consuming. Does anyone know of

MRI-guided transperineal biopsy hurt so much
I'm curious if folks have recommendations about how to reduce what was an unbearable pain from the biopsy. I almost passed out and the thought of my next biopsy gives me cold sweats. What hurt was the process of the anesthetic injections. Each one at a deeper layer. It's clear that the anesthetic did

Mother has calcium score of 470
Hello all, My 76 year old mother recently had a cardiac scan done. Her total coronary calcium score is 470 (ie 75 th - 90th percentile ). It's got both her and I rather concerned. Is there anything she can do to better things? Any advice/tips/comments? Much appreciated, Sophie .

Others don’t understand
I know we’re all usually talking about our meds, but I’m wondering how everybody is faring when trying to explain to others what we go through. I’ve had my adult children question why I take oxycodone. Some seem to understand, some are very judgmental. RLS can start at 10:30 am, and is why I’m spreading

Blood test follow up
Thank you all for your help. Results of discussion with doc - Parathyroid hormone: 10.93 (range 1.5-7.2), higher than range but lower than a year ago apparently (14+). This was a few months before my GCA diagnosis. Still waiting on results for B12, iron, folate. A year ago vit D levels and calcium

Plaque kills. Is this a reliable test?
Forget calcium scoring. Forget even seeing your GP. Is the answer simply to do this test at home and check your plaque levels - plaque kills...?

STATINS
Hi Can I please ask, if anybody takes a K2 vitamin and statins? I ask as i've been led to believe that K2 vitamin directly moves the calcium directly into the bones and not straight into the arteries. I've also read that if you take statins with this vitamin it stops it from doing this task??

Blood test results - round 2
I posted three weeks ago requesting help interpreting blood tests I’d had done for thyroid and calcium. Thank you PMRpro for your help. I’ve since had my parathyroid hormone levels tested plus B12, iron, as I have been feeling excessively fatigued (ironically I’ve felt much better over the last few days
