Ventoline and Atrovent evohalers
Ok new trial 2 vento puffs plus 2 atrovent puffs when I feel tight..see if that helps.😊 He is definitely against nebs, said it has been proven they have no added effects than inhalers and the aerochamber. 🙄 All that to avoid oral steroids in view of eye, bone, skin problems 😢 I hate plane pollen!

Can anyone explain to me how often exacerbations are "supposed" to be happening?
I have had about 6 of these since the fall. Today I woke up coughing up the green mucus, AGAIN! I just get one infection after another. I have been to the ER a few times, but never hospitalized. Is this just normal? On Spiriva, Symbicort, Proventil, and nebulizer. I do fall short on taking all my meds

Chest infection/asthma flare-up lingering on
Hi, I'm new here, and struggling with a recent flare-up. I had asthma as a child/teenager, mainly triggered by cigarette smoke and colds, but seemed to 'grow out of it' after I left school. I've had very few issues as an adult and hadn't been on a preventer for years. But I started with a chest infection

Elderly, advanced copd and vascular dementia
Hi all. My mum is 77, vascular dementia diagnosed 3 years ( although showing signs 7 years maybe) and also has COPD. When mum has an exacerbation her memory is extremely bad. Mum has had constant exacerbations since November. Chest X-ray shows COPD is advanced. Now on nebuliser daily and antibiotic therapy

PCD Management Advice
I have 2 children. A girl who just turned 5 and an 18 month old boy with suspected PCD. The consultant is treating them as such. We are trying to get to HSC funding to go to the UK to get tested - living in cork, Ireland. They did the test with the nose brushing on the 2 of them and it came back inconclusive

Has anyone on here been diagnosed with this, went to hospital to take part in research trial but when they did a reversibility test there was only 11% difference between pre nebuliser with oxygen and after, cannot seem to find anything readable on google just clinical spiel, they are writing to my docs

Introducing myself to the COPD community as a 'Newbie'
Hi everyone, My husband (65-year old, normal weight, normally physically fit and strong) was diagnosed with COPD recently following a lung function test. He then experienced his first exacerbation which we both found incredibly frightening so took ourselves of to St Helier A&E in the early hours of

Tell Me If It's Normal...
Do you sometimes find it difficult to decide whatever is ailing you at the time is just another aspect or symptom of COPD or that it might be something entirely unrelated? I have mornings when the simple act of getting up and dressed is virtually beyond me...and evenings when I want to sleep so much

Report came through..
Hi Everybody!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. The Report was so complex that the GP said he'd have to research the answers :))) So I wrote an email to the respiratory clinic because I noticed my asthma has gone up to severe. That is because of the dyspnea, shortness of breath. It should improve

Does anyone else have steroid induced diabetes?
Hi guys, I haven't been on in a long time, but I used to come around her a lot for the great support. About two years ago in Summer I developed necrotizing pnemonia, and was in the hospital 2-3 times. It took about 4-6 months for me to recover. Anyways, in the middle of this I was diagnosed with severe

3 year old undiagnosed
Hi everyone, I am new here and was just looking for a little bit of advice for my son. Two weeks ago he woke up with a runny/blocked nose and a cough. 24 hours later he was admitted to hospital with what they are calling a wheezing episode as he is not diagnosed with asthma although he has been on
