Letting Go
If it is one thing that I have after almost 18 years of playing this game, it is a story or perhaps many stories. So Many chapters. What I am about to say may seem easy from the perspective of undetectable PSA and clear scans these past 10 years. I assure you that at the time there was nothing easy about

Update: PSA after IMRT
After my 40 treatments, I wanted to get off the bicalutamide I had been on for 2 months. My breasts had not only gotten enlarged but they had also become quite painful, and the Tamoxifen my RO had put me on did not help with this. He then ordered an early PSA test, and when it came back at just .12

Discontinue all antioxidant supplements on early signs of biochemical recurrence?
The latest literature appears to indicate a PSA as low as 0.03, regardless of the multi-result dynamics is a reliable very early confirmation of biochemical recurrence. Maybe it's arguable some rare cases may "slip through" and stabilize without further treatment but data from the latest studies is

Radiation Question
PSA test sent me into this journey about 8 mos ago, Gleason 6-7-8s, good PSMA PET/CT did not show uptake outside of the prostate, 6 mos now on Abiraterone and Zytiga brought PSA to .31, now suggesting radiation, went to see RO and they want to start right away, 8 weeks x-ray type to include abdomen in

Confusing CT scan results
My PSA has been rising slowly after prostate removal two years ago. Was at zero months after and slowly rising at .02,.03. .05, .06. .09 and then .13. My doctor ordered CT and bone scans. Bone scan came back clear and then CT scan showed a few things in bones and a nonspecific mass outside the liver

Delayed Lynparza (Olaparib)Reaction
I started Lynparza (Olaparib) on 5/19 (PSA 172). By 7/5 (+7 weeks ) my PSA was 222 and it was decided to discontinue the drug, get a port, and prepare for chemo. At the first chemo appt on 8/10 (+12 weeks), the blood test showed that my PSA had fallen to 194. The general literature says you evaluate

What's next?
As I've written before, my husband stopped all treatment and is receiving palliative care. Just got the results of his 3-mo. PSA and it's jumped from 40 to 91. Wondering if there's any way to know if/when symptoms will start appearing due to PCa's further or worsening spread? He experiences some pain

Next steps after cabazitaxel
Hello again - I've completed six chemo treatments with cabazitaxel alone. PSA has fallen from 83 in early July at the start to 5.1 a couple of weeks ago (after five treatments). I live in Nicosia, Cyprus, and am being treated here but I'm also a Mayo patient of Drs. Kwon and Orme. They have identified

Asking for advice
Since I first diagnosed with PC (T3bNx, GS 3+4)last February, 2023, I’ve been through RP, ADT and IMRT continuously. I had Firmagon shot twice before RP and switched ADT to Eligard. Then I started 25 sessions of IMRT. All the treatments was done within 3 and half months. Now I am exhausted. I am

Little Update
Hi all - latest CT scan showed organs were clear which is good. My mets though have increased in size and there is also a new one. 3 in total that are seen. 2 on L5, 1 on pubic bone I think it is called. Doctor thought that isn't too surprising as I am only about 40days into treatment. Did Casodex

Are Lymph nodes a filter?
Do lymph nodes simply act as a temporary filter to prevent cancer from spreading too far? I was curious about this because I have 4th stage prostate cancer, and my Lymph had swelled to the size of a golfball. When I took the ADT, my PSA went from 1000, down to 6, and all evidence of cancer disappeared

My son’s Testosterone results:
Last week I posted my son’s three month PSA test and learned that it was the same as last time <0.10 and now I have the matching testosterone results of 7.0. How good or bad is that? I am unfamiliar with testosterone numbers after all the medicines he’s taken, and radiation. I don’t know what the previous

Age and timing for Triplet therapy?
I am age 81, active and neither fit nor frail, radiated in 2021 without hormone therapy. Radiated again in 2023 for a pelvic node. In December the PSA rose to 3.78 and a PSMA-PET scan showed cancer growing in prostate, shrinking in pelvic node, and spread to one abdominal node. I started ADT with

Open or Robotic Prostatectomy
Open or Robotic? A new wrinkle has cropped up in my journey towards prostatectomy. I have a penile implant whose reservoir is right next to my prostate. My surgeon (who I am reliably told is the best prostatectomy surgeon in the area, Dr L) told me that there is a risk of damaging the reservoir

My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the
