I have been trying to research this since my endoscopy showed “possible Barrett’s tongue” Biopsy has been taken to rule this out which I hope is a positive sign , but does anyone have experience of this term? I understand that it is associated with hiatal hernia although my reflux issues aren’t too

As I have bronchiolitis obliterans and bronchiectasis coupled with Barretts oesophagus, I feel that my world is shrinking on a daily basis. As I am no longer able to do many of the things I used to do. Everything is a task and I tire so very quickly.

I am on reflux medication for life due to having Barretts oesophagus. I have been told there is no link to taking this and my stomach/ IBS/ wind issues by several different.medical staff. I am not completely convinced by this. Any one any thoughts / experiences.on this ? Thanks

I was diagnosed with a small island of Barretts Oesophagus, a lax LES with significant reflux. I had an ENT check down my throat and they said it was unremarkable. I was taking PPIs through all these procedures.

In 2021 I was asked to go for another Endoscopy by my GP the results of which were another medical problem I had now developed called Barretts Oesophagus with a Hiatus Hernia. This resulted in my now taking a PPI daily.

In the past I have seen a consultant, about 2 to 3 years ago, he checked my oesophagus which was okay, no barretts. However my life is being so badly affected now that I need to go back to a consultant for stronger measures. Any advice, whether surgery works, whether to double down on diet etc

I Have Barretts oesophagus and have lost two brothers to Osophgeal Cancer recently. But am only tested every three years. Is it in the genes? . I just want to talk these worries through. I'm 75.

I also have something called Barretts Oesophagus which was also discovered after an endoscopy in early 2019.

I had an endoscopy early this year, which potentially raised Barretts Oesophagus in my foodpipe, which may be a contributing factor but doesn't explain the episodes. - no anti-sickness works to stop the sickness during the episode, even Ondansetron.

Hi I was diagnosed with GERD & Barretts last summer and have now tried Omeperazole & Esomperazole on a few occasions. However, both these tablets seem to exasperate my situation causing further pain, a burning sensation and inflammation. I felt like my whole intestines where about to burst out my tummy

My symtoms are classic and confirmed Hiatus Hernia,diverticulitus and now barretts oesophagus. Im now on 80 mg so im taking 4 tablets p day and after last Endoscopy where biopsys were taken it showed a lot of imflamation in belly.

A friend has Barretts Oesophagus and says it causes her to be croaky cough and clearing throat...just like I'm getting now after 5 yrs of GERD. Anyone??

The results of the procedure confirmed I have Barretts oesophagus and Fatty Liver disease. I would like to know if anyone with APS/Hughes have similar experience and if these conditions are in anyway affected by or attributed to the APS/Hughes.

I was dxed with a sliding hiatal hernia (5cm) and Barretts' Oesophagus. I know none here are medically qualified but I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem and what did they do about it. Thank you all in advance

The consultant gave us information on Barretts oesophagus as he thinks it may be that. Just not sure what to think now regarding the CT scan, would this be normal procedure if nothing showed up during the endoscopy? Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all,have just been dxed with Barretts oesophagus plus GERD and grade 2 oesophagitis and feeling a bit confused and scared. Awaiting histology reports on the biopsies taken (22). Have been told to double the PPI to 30mg x2 a day.
