Hiatus Hernia and asthma

Hi Everyone, new to this group but been on the asthma group a while. Most of my problems over the years seem to trace back to acid reflux and a hiatus hernia. Had some bad spells recently of this. Been on omeprazole off and on for a v long time. Last few years have to be on it permanently because it also causes asthma. I've also had oesphagal spasm in the past not nice. Last few weeks have been awful with chest pain, throat clearing etc, and upped my omeprazole to two a day but not really helping much. In the past I have seen a consultant, about 2 to 3 years ago, he checked my oesophagus which was okay, no barretts. However my life is being so badly affected now that I need to go back to a consultant for stronger measures. Any advice, whether surgery works, whether to double down on diet etc
