Hospital for iv antibiotics For Bronchiectasis with Pseudomonas
I knew that one day the oral antibiotics would stop working on my pseudomonas and I would have to go into hospital for iv antibiotics. I got a phone call from the hospital consultant today to say I have to go in on Wednesday for the iv treatment as my sputum sample showed it was colonised and that ciprofloxacin

CT results following NTM positive sample.
I have just received the news that I have nodules of 4mm in my lungs, which would indicate damage to my lungs due to NTM. My background is mild Bronch, Asthma and pneumothorax. Unfortunately my Consultant seems reluctant to treat the NTM, especially as my last sputum sample was clear (although I was

Antibiotics and pseudomonus
I'm having terrible problems with antibiotics. I regularly grow pseudomonos and I have an emergency pack of Clarithromycin of 1 week 500mg. As soon as I take them I begin to feel better and acouple of days after completing the course I'm back to square one. I saw a respiratory Dr. who has suggested

Bronchiectasis & pseudomonas treatment
Just a quick update to say Friday was my 4 month review at the clinic. It was decided that given the number of infections especially pseudomonas that I would benefit from long term antibiotics, now scheduled to take Azithromycin 3 times per week long term and with luck be able to have a break from them

Side effects of Azithromycin
I see that quite a few of folks here take Azithromycin particularly in the winter months. I have severe COPD and brittle asthma and for the past couple of years it has been suggested that I take Azithromycin during the winter months to avoid exacerbations. I've put off taking it but after so many hospital

Six-monthly antibiotics for Bronchiectasis sufferers with colonised pseudomonas
I have got my prescription of Azithromycin waiting to be started for the winter months. Am I right in thinking this is about the right time to start it? Also, I have never had the shingles jab. Is this a good idea? Thanks all.

What to do?
I’m at a bit of a loss. Two weeks ago my PF was at 92%. Since then it has fluctuated dropping down then coming up a little then dropping again each day, 1 step forward then 2 back situation (still in my green zone). I’ve been a bit wheezy and mucusy over the weekend. I’m tight this morning, gunky and

NEW CONSULTANT
My husband had his appointment with his new consultant on Friday and is still in remission, but felt he should see an Immunologist as he had a number of infections lasting 4months. Today my husband has received a letter from him stating that he has done a referral in view he is pan-hypoglobulinemic.

Prostatitis - Despair
I haven't got prostate cancer as far as I know - but I thought this might be a good place to post After many months of being messed around by the medical profession at my own expense and urging I was finally diagnosed with chronic bacterial prostatitis with "a heavy growth of enterococcus faecilis"
