I have 2 children. A girl who just turned 5 and an 18 month old boy with suspected PCD. The consultant is treating them as such. We are trying to get to HSC funding to go to the UK to get tested - living in cork, Ireland. They did the test with the nose brushing on the 2 of them and it came back inconclusive

Azithromycin 500 mg for 14 days...is that to much for chlamydia pneumonia bacteria
My new doctor just prescribe this to me because of my blood test. He said that I did have chlamydia pneumonia bacteria at one time. I guess I might still have it according to my test. Is this normal for that type of bacteria?

Bronchiectasis Psudomonas update
Hi - just thought I would give an update on my lung function and experience from taking nebulized Gentamycin and 3 X week Azithromycin. ECG completed - normal so no worry re QT prolongation. It took me a while to adjust to the Azithromycin. Initially I was completely knocked out, tired and sleepy - unlike

Azithromycin - low heart rate
Well not looking good for me with Azithromycin as my heart rate has dropped to below 50bpm - as low as 42 when sleeping. Only taken 3 tabs so going to GP today to get checked out! Anyone else have similar problems when taking this drug?

Bronchiectasis help please
My consultant wants me to take Azithromycin for 6 months but I'm unsure of the best dose. Is 250 mg daily preferable to 500 mg three times a week? Suggestions and experiences most welcome. Thanks all.

I'm absolutely gutted two years infection free and now I've have one. I know Azithromycin aren't full proof but I've done so well. I've had a different brand this time does it make a difference or am I being silly. Kim xxx

Long term antibiotics
Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis a year ago and have since had a chain of chest infections. It has now been suggested that I go on long term antibiotics such as azithromycin. I think this is probably the right thing to do but have a small concern. I wondered whether

Can anyone tell me what the other AB like Azithromycin is called. My friend has been on Azit nearly a month he feels really well except his ankles hurt and are weak, he's having a scan and he's really worried they will take him off it. I said i will find out so he can ask his consultant. Kim

Gilbert's Syndrome/antibiotic reaction=very poorly son
My 17 year old son was diagnosed with GS 18 months ago, with several mild episodes and 2 episodes made worse by infections. 4 weeks ago he was getting over an episode, when he was given Erythromycin for a skin infection. Without realising, he was becoming very poorly and within a week he stopped taking
