Just a quick update to say Friday was my 4 month review at the clinic. It was decided that given the number of infections especially pseudomonas that I would benefit from long term antibiotics, now scheduled to take Azithromycin 3 times per week long term and with luck be able to have a break from them in the spring and then back on again in October. I have a review in 2 months and kidney function blood tests. Fingers crossed we might get back to some normality.

Bronchiectasis & pseudomonas treatment
Hoping the azithromycin works well for you ssafa. Take care xxxxx
I started azithromycin at Easter, following continual chest infections for years withbronchiectasis, and haven’t had an infection since (touch wood!) I continue to use the nebuliser with the salt stuff too. I haven’t coughed since then, having coughed continually for 4 years. I can have a break next April. I do hope it works the same for you... it is life changing! Good luck!
Hope the anti biotics help you get through the winter ok. Take care x
Hi Ssafa, I have heard great things regarding this antibiotic and am sure you will find the relief you need. Lets hope you can get back to "normal" as quickly as possible. Im interested regarding your handle name and why you chose this ? I was an army wife and remember our ssafa sisters with fondness x
Good luck to you, sounds like a good plan, I have these treatments (and More) which have been very successful and led to a five year break from infections and hospitalisations.
I've been taking Azithromycin for quite a few years now. I haven't had any exacerbations for about years. I hope it works for you too.
