Adrenaline during asthma attacks
I had an adrenaline injection and the rest nebulised (along with hydrocortisone, magnesium,
atrovent
nebs, and salbutamol nebs) yesterday evening during a bad attack (silent parts of my chest again etc.). Not staying in any longer than needed being discharged today. Just a bit frustrated.

The
Atrovent
inhaler (2 puffs) does not make any difference. Honey helped just a little. Any ideas how I stop the tickling sensations?

He suggested two puffs of my
Atrovent
inhaler 15 minutes before my two postural lung drainage sessions. I find that the inhaler traps mucus whereas without the inhaler I get a lot out. So I don't use the inhaler for my morning session, but I do for the evening session.

The consultant at the Royal Brompton said use the
Atrovent
inhaler twice, 15 minutes before the postural lung drainage, which I do. I stopped taking carbocisteine capsules as they might have been causing diarrhea, although it's difficult to know what triggers what with so many 'aids.'

Add on drugs that are usually prescribed by a consultant part 1 (LAMAs, add-on inhalers, theo)
However ipratropium (
atrovent
) which is the same class as tiotropium can be used as a reliever, however you shouldn’t use tiotropium and ipratropium at the same time. I have not listed all options here just covered the most common devices, so if I’ve missed yours, sorry and please list it below!

Short Synacthen Test for AI
I am also on Spiriva Respimat 2 puffs morning, as well as ipratropium (
Atrovent
) and salbutamol via nebuliser 3-4 times daily (as well as other asthma meds). I have been told that these are ok to continue.

Add on of Atrovent
I’ve now been given
Atrovent
to take 3 times a day as well. This might seem a silly question but do I take the
Atrovent
at the same time as the Fostair for my morning and evening dose and does it matter which I take first? It just seems a lot to take all at once 😬.

Sinusitis side effect with Atrovent and Spiriva
Hi, after a flare up of asthma I was given
Atrovent
in addition to my Fostair, prednisolone, antibiotics (I had a raised temperature) and anti histamine. After a few days I developed sinus symptoms (which I’ve had on and off for years).

Home Nebs 🫁 - they may help improve QoL in severe asthmatics, but are they safe?! Everything you need to know!
IPATROPIUM BROMIDE (
) Typically given in hospital in acute situations, rarely
atrovent
nebs can be given at home. This is a SAMA (short acting muscarinic antagonist), so LAMAs (like spiriva) should be stopped if using them.

Unsure if I have tinnitus..?
Hi everyone... I'm new and am just really panicking that I have tinnitus. Been to Drs twice and ER and went private to an ENT consultant this week. As soon as I mentioned a"hum" in my left ear (right ear is fine) he said it was tinnitus. Was actually hoping there was fluid so I could have that drained

Is it anxiety or asthma
I take Relvar 188 but I still need to take
Atrovent
sometimes 2 puffs twice a day. Is this normal. I am 66 years of age. I just feel my breathlessness is getting worse but yet my consultant and GP tell me my chest is clear. I suffer from anxiety so could this be the cause of my breathlessness.

I have been in 50 mg prednisone for 3 days 4 hourly ventolin ,

Asthma
I was taking the Relvar every day(which I still do) but instead of taking the
Atrovent
inhaler which I could be taking 6-8 puffs a day, I take two nebules. Does this seem weird to anyone. I feel so much better in myself and my anxiety has diminished quite a bit.

Nebuliser
What dose of nebuliser are you on , you can have 5mg salbutamol & 500 micrograms
atrovent
Also how much prednisolone? But if you are not responding to the medication, you perhaps need to go to hospital , before you get any worse. Hope things improve xxx

Asthma misery
I’m taking nebuliser salbutamol and
atrovent
Symbicort inhaler. 40 mg of pred. Co amoxyclav 3 times a day and carbocysteine. I’m still very short of breath and wheezing. My chest is just so tight. And I’ve got a terrible cough. I feel a bit afraid and weepy.
