Immunotherapy Clinical Trial or Olaparib (Lynparza)?
We've been offered two options: 1. a trial of
atezolizumab
+ cabozantinib - an immunotherapy treatment that seems to be promising in Breast Cancer. But, if he is put into the control group, he'd receive enzalutamide (another ADT drug). 2.

New cancer treatment
The consultant advice me to use the new drug
atezolizumab
. After being told that I have 6 months to live I have been able to live a normal life for 2 years and 5 months. It is harmless and very minor side effects if any. I hope more people could receive this wonderful creation

Quick Update
Oddly, for such an aggressive cancer, it actually has a low mutational burden which explains why the
atezolizumab
didn't work. As I understand it, my cancer isn't different enough from my healthy tissue for my immune system to care.

The plan and probably my last chance is for
Atezolizumab
immunotherapy which I start next week. I thought it would be Keytruda but he said the above was better for my circumstances. Does anyone have any positive results to the above treatment please or experience of having this drug.

Freaking out over latest blood test results
My body has been beat up by 9 cycles of chemotherapy so far this year, not to mention
atezolizumab
which faield. I really was hoping for some form of remission to allow my body to recover and get healthy again before having to continue the fight.

Not a candidate for the CAR-T trial. Should I pursue cabozantinib here in the USA or look abroad for LU-177?
The Mayo Clinic has accepted me to get either cabozantinib (XL184) alone or in combination with
atezolizumab
(immunotherapy). Cabozantinib is an oral agent which is great and is FDA approved for medullary thyroid cancer. This is a phase 2 study.

High PSA with Mets in Check
I’ve been on a clinical trial of a combo of Cabozantinib and
Atezolizumab
for three months now. It’s a combination of pill and infusion. My Mets that involve my lungs, liver and lymph nodes are staying in check. But my PSA climbs 20 spots every three weeks of my treatment.

I Can Do an Oil Change
In other news, I completed chemo back in June, finished radiation in July, and continue on
Atezolizumab
, Lupron, Abiraterone, and Xgeva. I'm finally beginning to see glimpses of improving health as I recover from the chemo and radiation.

Update on insanity
Atezolizumab
- Vemurafinib - Cobimetinib. Ryan did not fair well on a dual therapy, so I’m not sure if that will be the course of action. Definitely has to be discussed. Once the bowel heals and functions correctly he will be able to eat without restrictions and go back to normal life.

A Phase III trial comparing Atezolizumab with Enzalutamide vs Enzalutamide alone in patients with metastatic CRPC
[1] Bottom line: no add-on value or synergy for
Atezolizumab
(a checkpoint inhibitor) with Enzalutamide. "Patients treated with
atezolizumab
(Tecentriq) and enzalutamide (Xtandi) had a median OS of 15.2 months as compared with 16.6 months for single-agent enzalutamide.

Immunotherapy and Blood Counts
Part of my cocktail includes
Atezolizumab
which is an immunotherpy agent. I found my blood counts for the last two cycles interesting, and thought I'd share to see if anybody else has seen anything similar or has comments to add.

After two years, My trial has now stopped working
My MO wants to start chemo again or another clinical trial combo of Cabozantinib-
Atezolizumab
. I wish they would come up with easier names of these drugs. I have to be off my last trial for four weeks to start this new adventure. The side effects like my last trial are debilitating.

Seeking wisdom from those of you that have "been there done that"
I had 12 consecutive weeks of Ptaxil, Carboplatin and either a placebo or
Atezolizumab
(pretty sure it's the
Atezolizumab
). I just started my 4 dose - 2nd round of Doxorubicin, Cyclophosphamide and placebo/
atezolizumab
2 weeks ago....Lord, that was a rough ride for 7 days after!

Chemotherapy Cycle 3 and a Blog Post
I'm currently on carboplatin, etoposide, and
atezolizumab
for neuroendocrine prostate cancer. Scans done before the third infusion showed shrinkage of the tumors in my bladder and liver. To enhance the side effects, I also got lupron and xgeva injections at the end of the first week.

High BMI may improve cancer survival.
Focusing on clinical trials of
atezolizumab
, a common immunotherapy treatment for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the Australian cancer researchers found improved responsiveness to the drug in those with a high body mass index (BMI). https://medicalxpress.com/news/2019-12-high-bmi-cancer-survival.html
