Good Morning……. It’s been awhile
👋. Following an acute episode of PTSD at the end of last year I went into January feeling pretty sorry for myself. Then in the middle of January I was diagnosed with a DVT 🤷♀️. So put on blood thinners. Fast forward to last week when I saw my ( long term) GP. I was with her for 40 mins ( end of day

Also in Persistent Afib
I am in continous afib with a slower than normal heart rate (brachycardia). I experience no symtoms. I'm on the blood thinner Eliquis, 5 mg, 10 AM and 10PM to prevent my having a stroke. My cardiologist (who performs many ablations per year) recommended I do an ablation. I consulted with another cardiologist

So after suffering from breathlessness for 3 years or more and being told by lung consultant that it was due to putting on a bit of weight I paid privately to see a cardiologist!!! He looked at my notes from the lung specialists and saw that they’d fine Ct scans with & without contrast and that nothing

my husband is 6 days post surgery, and has been given Warfarin as a blood thinner. When I asked why, thinking Warfarin was given for a mechanical valve, I was told it’s because he has AF! He’s become also quite confused, so again advice from me, should I try& speak to a registrar/surgeon, as I only

Blood thinners...
Hi everyone, I've made comment a good few times over the years, I have PAF about 3/4 times a year and always at night when having eaten too late in the day which I now try to avoid doing at all costs by not eating after 1700 and it most definitely works for me. But my 'beef' today is related to blood

long term outlook on arrhythmias
I know most of you have AF, whereas I have atrial flutter/SVT/atrial tachycardia. I had an ablation for flutter in October 2020 and am now 55. I enjoyed 3 peaceful years, taking only medication for an under active thyroid and an anticoagulant ( my choice , not the doctors). On Thursday evening my heart

Ablation outcome
So I haven't been on for a while or updated on the outcome of my ablation that I had at the end of August. I stayed in and out of NSR for about 2 weeks before settling in to a symptomless permanent AFib. The only problem was I felt breathless on climbing hills or running. A 24 hour ECG showed my average

20 weeks pregnant and my hair is falling out. 4 weeks with no ivf meds. (Steroids, blood thinners, progesterone)
why is my hair falling out when every app and google is telling me my hair should be the best it’s ever been! It’s coming out in handfuls everyday day :( I have had this before after failed ivf round… I’m not concerned about the hair loss I’m concerned that my body is trying to tell me something? I’m

Rheumatologist appointment today…
I have been having a lot of problems with blood clots in my lungs the past two years. I am also having increased pain in my joints (including lower back). I have had to stop Naproxen because of the blood thinners I am on. I have had several prednisolone injections in my lower back, but the pain is still

Dry skin on blood thinners
I have already written about my horrible bruising due to Brilique but this morning I noticed something else wrong with my skin. I had my heart attack in September and other self health checks I put on hold. This morning I thought I had better check my breasts and whilst looking in the mirror I noticed

Can you help with this Kardia ECG strip please? Kardia say it is sinus rhythm but I’m not so sure
Reported by Kardia as sinus rhythm. I wonder if it is slow atrial flutter or heart block. I have had permanent atrial fibrillation for years after ultimately unsuccessful ablations. I only take an anticoagulant but last night I was batting along at 112 per minute during a tense online chess game so

Eloquis/Apixaban etc - To Take or Not - That is The Question!
I am really in a quandry regarding eloquis/apixaban etc. I have a very mild heart flutter in that I have the 'pill in the pocket' medication with me since told about the flutter over a year ago. It does flutter a couple of times a week but when it happens it goes up to 150 but then flutters down so

HEALTH UNLOCKED POSTS HAVE DISAPPEARED ....HELP
Around the 19 or 20 January I noticed I started receiving posts from another HU forum, namely, “Lung Conditions Community Forum”. I cannot think how I got into this as I am not in anyway concerned with lung issues and have no interest in the subject at all ….unless in some weird way I

AFIB, Besremi refused by insurance, and more
On December 1, I felt breathless, climbing stairs quickly and caring for my husband (who had open heart surgery in November). I felt like my heart was beating fast, and I was winded. But it got worse: My apple watch said I was in AFIB. AFIB??? I have no heart issues. I went to the emergency room

Anticoagulants 7 years after successful ablation?
Am quite horrified really and have no intentions of taking
anticoagulants
after all this time, but it’s got me a bit worried. Is this a new recommendation? To be honest I very rarely think about AF these days as it has been cured to the best of my knowledge. Any thoughts would be welcome

Rivaroxaban
When I was first diagnosed with Afib about 6 months ago the cardio prescribed 15 mg rivaroxaban amongst other things as a blood thinner. It certainly worked well! Every shaving nick bled profusely and even the slightest knock produced spectacular bruises. Then it suddenly stopped. Scarcely any bleeding
